So, just saw The Martian...

I'll keep this short, The Martian was AMAZING!

The story is simple, Matt Damon plays an astronaut who gets stranded alone on Mars, he tries to survive as NASA on Earth try to save him.

The story is gripping and engaging, all the actors are on point, the visuals are stunning and Matt Damon does an incredible job showcasing the fear and adversity of his situation. Also, the comedy is hilarious and helps alleviate tension when needed.

The Martian joins Ex Machina, Mad Max and Kingsmen as my favorite movies of 2015, do yourself a favor and see it!

Did they get him home? With Goddard and Scott, it's bound to be good.

I read the book and enjoyed it a lot. Glad the movie was great, I'll have to check it out sometime.

I'm debating on whether I should watch this, Black Mass or Sicario. They all look pretty good.

It was really great. Total return to form for Ridley Scott, and Matt Damon dominated his scenes (both the emotional and the comedic).

Well paced, tightly edited, beautifully shot space porn, white-knuckle tension, and an awesome ensemble cast.

Seriously folks, go check it out.

@sophia89: Oh, the premise is that he and his team are living on Mars and doing research as part of a NASA mission (film takes place in the undetermined near future). There's a big storm, and the team is forced to evacuate the planet and head back to Earth. They leave Damon behind because he's presumed dead.

The trailers focused more on the fact that he's on Mars and people are coming to get him, so I don't blame you for being confused as to the circumstances in which he got there.

@silkyballfro94: I hear mixed things about Black Mass. So, it'll be between this and Sicario, personally, I say choose Martian.

If it's any good as Gravity then why not? But I would rather watch Sicaro and I can't wait for Guillermo Del Toro's Crimson Peak!
