If they are banned, we could have less shootings. Kids can get better grades. The obession of games can be cured.
Should videogames be banned forever?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Omg why this crap. Video games are made for fun, not to encourage people to do violence. kids bring that upon themselfs, they chose to do that crap.
No! A multi billion dollar industry that employs thousands of people should not be banned because ignorant people want to make it a scape goat for other problems.
I plan on making a living developing games. So nah. Get outta here with that "blame the games" sh*t.
We should ban dumb people. That will stop shootings.
Banning a billion dollar industry that promotes creativity and brings people from across the globe together with a common interest?
You're a genius.
Nope, other countries have about the same amount and yet, their people are not violent as this one. It's more to do with our society and how we treat people and others. We see something we look the other way or make up some lame excuse. Like Penn state, that's another reason on what's going on, people don't care; they only care about themselves and no one else. If they going to kneel jerk and start to tight up things, the history of Americans is that we rebel against things. On the serious note, more people are killed with DWI and most Judges just slap the hands and think he or she will clean up, no, they won't, they will think they are justify of their action and do it again.
Yes! Yes they should. They should ban all video games as soon as some a-hole beats twenty people to death with a copy of Mario Kart.
Don't forget the arms trade. Oh wait, that's only legal when nations use tax dollars to buy them. Whoops.@Illuminatus said:

The illegal human trafficking and drug trade(s) could be intensely hindered if they were made legal to a certain extent, and if this prohibition nonsense was no longer so mercilessly enforced.
Yes. While we're at it, movies should be banned, too. TV shows are time consuming. Kids are reading comic books when they should be doing homework. How dare people read novels on the train or in their beds? Why should a person be allowed to view what they want as individual human beings? It's not as if we can think for ourselves or have free will or anything absurd of the sort.
Yes, ban video games. Get to it!
Yup!
Ban music to stop people from using curse words!
Ban the internet for having inappropriate content.

This is essentially true. The legalization of regulated brothels would be beneficial.
- Reduce the spread of STDs.
- Less sex trafficking (wouldn't be completely gone, but still).
- Safe working environment for the prostitutes in the brothels (not abused by clients or pimps)
- Decline of the street hooker.
One of the world's oldest occupations isn't going away. Might as well make it safer.
Same essentially goes for drugs. I remember a place (I think it was somewhere in Canada) where specific institutions provided a safe place for people to do drugs. The people were monitored - they got high, they did not OD, and if they did then medical care was close by. Last I checked, they had very few overdoses, and none of them resulted in death.
