I don't mean this to offend women at all, as I respect their right to choose. Also, this thread is NOT meant to spark abortion debates, but I guess its kind of unavoidable. Just try to keep the peace people :)

I'm mainly interested in knowing if you think a woman, if she wants an abortion, should feel an obligation to tell her significant other?

Yes. It may ultimately be her decision, but the guy's DNA is in there too so he should defiantly be told about it.

Uh..yeah. This ain't taking money out of your husband/bf's wallet to go shopping, or getting a puppy without asking, this a persons child..both ways. We may not have to give birth to it. But we certainly should have a right to keep it. I mean, unless that person is unfit to be a parent in the first place.

Yes, its about respect. I won't comment, however, on whether, once he knows, if a man has the right to tell her what to do.

They decision should be up to both partners together just like protection is.

Not even telling the man though is just sick.

Morally speaking? Yes, the man should be notified. The fetus is also his. But legally? The man really doesn't have any authority. I can't think of any grounds upon which a court will force a woman to carry to term (before the termination deadline, of course), even if he elects to raise it alone.

I think they should morally. But legally it is a different matter. I mean if they were planning to have a child sure. But if it's a one night stand or something then it is a different situation.

As a female I said: yes, because it is also his child and I think the man has the right to know, unless he raped her.
but in normal occurrences he has the right to know
