Should I accept?

Hi all. So I wanted to run this by someone and I thought might as well do it here. I play GTA online on PS3 and have been playing for a few months with a group of people I've made friends with on it. A few months back one of them offered to give me a $50 PSN code. I declined a few times but he insisted and sent me the code anyway.

Now a few months on. I get back on today (only been on a handful of times the last month or two) he said he will be switching to PS4 with the release of the Online Heists. And asked if I have a PS4. I said no, and now he's offering and pretty insistent on sending me money to pay for one by Western Union. I just wanted thoughts on the matter as it's not every day someone wants to send you stuff.

@dshipp17: No. We just play GTA together for about a year now. I just found out he lives in Saudi Arabia. And has given money to someone else we're mutual friends with online (only know them all through PSN) and said not to ask the person because they "might get mad". I've asked anyway but the person ain't online yet.

I don't think you should continue staying in-contact with him/her, something seems off. Personal opinion though.

I feel that something seems off too but he's offering to send you money; you should probably take the money, get the Playstation 4, see where it goes, than just get a refund for the Platstation 4, if something goes sour and you do not want a Playstation 4. He could just be trying to be friendly. If something is up with this, he'll want something other than the details to send you the money.

So the other person who is being offered money has replied to me. He is saying he's been given a confirmation number to take to Western Union and will let me know how it goes. I've been researching scams relating to Western Union and there are ones where money is sent to your bank account, but it bounces and you end up owing the bank or something. But I'm being offered cash here and only needing to supply my name, country and region, not account numbers or anything like that.

@tattacus: Do they know you personally? Like did you send them pics of yourself and did you give them your address? Also did the PSN code work?

I don't know anything about them except they are from Saudi Arabia. We play together daily, up until the last couple months where I just haven't been playing. I haven't given any details about me either, except for the country I live in. And yes the code worked no problem.

If there is a way you can get that money with giving very little info about yourself, I don't see the problem with accepting the money.

So the info I have to give is my name, country and region. With that info you have to give. Who out of you lot would go through with this? Thanks for your time.

@tattacus: Maybe, I think you'll be safe if you don't have to give any of your security info, like Social Security, bank info, or credit card numbers, etc... So you don't have to give them an exact address?

Seems weird. I personally don't like it when people try to give me free stuff. I feel like I have to repay them, but on the other hand this is a free ps4. Well whatever you do, DON'T give your personal info away to a complete stranger.

Who cares if he gets mad, just tell him what concerns you have, because its not everyday people you haven't met offer to buy you stuff and you're little skeptical. I think that's understandable.
