School started this week for me. I think my classes are all right. Except Home Ec, the teacher wanted to greet each other by @ss bumping each other....it's pretty weird.

Most (or some) of you may know that I've been a high school Math teacher for some time. Those days are done. I haven't officially announced it but I quit this past year. It was a tough decision but that's how committed I am to this place, giantbomb, and.......

Honestly, I think it goes back to November. RedLAMP kept telling me I should be here full time. The time was just right. Things lined up. I made my basically made my decision in January. It's going to be weird these next couple weeks not having to set up my classroom and be starting a new year. I'll miss it but there was also a lot of other "politics" with teaching that made the decision a little easier. My school didn't want me to go but I have to do what I have to do.

I could never quit... Teaching makes me feel like M.O.D.O.K. and my students are like A.I.M. minions.... They all have to do what I say, except I don't have a huge head.... I can understand the whole "politics" scenario, from what I've heard from my HS teaching friends, the politics seem a whole lot worse at the college... It's quite annoying....

It is. Some parents (not all) feel their kids are entitled to everything when the kid in question isn't doing their part. And don't get me started on faculty meetings.

But in a way, I'm still teaching. I feel like I'm teaching here sometimes. Or at least trying to teach what good comics are. Trying to teach proper grammar and spelling on the character pages. Dealing with problem users and settling arguments, etc. So it's not too different except now I get to teach comics vs Math.

I never went to school, except the school of life followed by university to study hard knocks and tough breaks. I was an "A" student.
