I liked The Thin Red Line more, but both are great; however, I did think SPR was a little too 'Hollywood' at times.

I agree with this statement.

I'm just glad to see that someone actually watched The Thin Red Line, knowing how massively overshadowed it was/still is by SPR.

Thin Red Line had so much talent wasted on such a boring script.

Thin Red Line was okay, but Saving Private Ryan is one of the greatest war films ever made.

Yeah, this movie is overlooked by a lot of people.

I haven't see The Thin Red Line so I'm going to vote Saving Private Ryan out of ignorance.

Saving Private Ryan is probably the best Steven Spielberg ever. It was an absolutely amazing movie.

Haven't seen The Thin Red Line.

@ganon15: I could go on for an hour or so about how awesome a movie SPR is (even with some serious historical inaccuracies, but some really hard hitting accuracy as well)

I could also go on for a couple of days about how WRONG almost everything is about TRL. The demeanor of the majority of the troops, how a whole company of Chesty Puller's Marine's were mostly cry babies, making it look like Guadal Canal was some tropical paradise instead of the horrible insect, snake, heat and impassible jungle that it was, , they did, sadly get a few things right, Like how the Japanese viliagers were treated. Just, damn that movie was hard to watch...it was a SUPER liberal view of the battle. Liberal or conservative okay, but FAR left or right so that you can feel yourself being slapped with the message is just too much.
