Did anybody notice the news item about a Sri Lankan maid being executed by beheading in Saudi Arabia for the alleged murder of a child in her care(www.independent.co.uk, January 10, 2013)?

First of all the maid in question Rizana Nafeek, claims that the child in question died of natural causes in reality and her family insists that at the time of the alleged"murder", Ms Nafeek was 17 years old(The UN Declaration On The Rights Of The Child which Saudi Arabia has signed and ratified forbids juvenile executions).

It amy be argued that the rest of the world should "mind its own business" and let the Saudis handle matters in their own way, but as Jimmy Carter pithily observed to the late unlamented Leonid Brezhnev back in 1977- "human rights are EVERYBODY's business!"

Anybody think as I do?
