These clips take me back to my childhood.  That movie is a truly underrated gem.  It was really frikkin cool and scary to me when it was first aired.  It freaked me out in a good way.   
 
Today's vampire-type stuff seems more like teen-angst seudo-porn soap opera (i.e., Twilight) than horror or thriller type movies.   
Maybe I'd like this modern fare if I was still a kid, but it lacks the fear-generating capacity of 'Salem's Lot' so I doubt it.

This film was sheer brilliance in storytelling and style. 
I was hung up with this one and Rosemarys Baby and watched them
repeatedly in the same year yet never to death (oh I'm so Crypt Creeper punny! ;)
