RWBY Discussion Thread

RWBY finally finished its first season with 16 episodes, free and can bee seen either in cruncyroll/youtube/roosterteeth. It is a series made by Monty Oum [Dead Fantasy/Haloid], personally I think it is a stellar series here and there. Some of you might be fans of anime, or fans of cartoons but at the end this series is worth it.

Kick ass combat scenes, unique weapon configurations, and an ever expanding cast from the Red vs. Blue crew.

@strongarm: Haha, I was just about to make this thread myself. Anyway, I love this series for it's awesome characters, Weiss, Jaune, Pyrrha, and Yang are totally awesome!

I bought my copy of the first season the other day, and now it becomes the waiting game....for season two start lol.

What character is your favorite?

@ostyo: I like Team JNPR, Jaune especially since he has a whole lot to grow in terms of character development and that he is hiding great skill.

I rewatched the entire series after the season finale, everything is so fun

Penny is also cool herself, reminds me of one of Oum's Dead Fantasy vids that never got shown on youtube.

The good songs got me hooked as well.

they need to invent a way to read comics, listen to music, watch anime and waste time on comicvine at the same time

@strongarm: Team JNPR is actually my favorite team too, Ren and Nora are just a little bit cooler then Ruby and Blake in my opinion. I agree about Jaune, he's got that likable underdog quality that makes you wanna root for him.

Penny was pretty funny, but I'm curious as to whether she's a good or bad guy...

Yeah, that theme song was pretty catchy. Still stuck in my head actually... lol

@ostyo: Gold is stuck on my head since I saw the frames where the had Jaune dancing to the tunes, ren is cool but is fragile hence why nora serves as his shield. Jaune has the most simple weapon, which is also why I like him. Maybe later he gets an upgrade.

I dig the naming conventions the whole fairytale thing

The last episode was pretty decent. I just hope the episodes next season will be longer episodes. (4 minutes is rather pathetic)

And I hope some kind of plot will kick in next season.

Torchwick is a stud, blocking a hail storm of gunfire at point blank range. Bad...A$$!

Looking forward to seeing Adam from the Black trailer show up in the series. I'm sure Blake and him should have some interesting interactions.

@strongarm: Yup, no doubt about it. They were totally thinking of Clockwork Orange and Alex's look when designing Torchwick.

Apparently Adam's last name is Taurus acrding to the RWBY wiki. So...maybe...

@strongarm: Yeah, I watched the behind the scenes DVD feature yesterday, and Monty said he would like to keep the show going for the next ten years or so. The idea of watching the teams grow up I guess, but if that's the case then Cinder probably won't be the main villain for sure.

It's great. Had it's faults, but overall I loved it.

One of the high points though was definitely Michael Jones voicing Sun Wukong. He's got some pretty good talent for voice acting.

Yup. She voices Cinder Fall, one of the villains.

@_zombie_: For me its Monty Oum/soundtrack, a complain would be consistency of video length but besides that things are okay

@strongarm: It was the animation and video length for me. The animation was good a majority of the time, but there were moments when it was just.. off-putting.

@strongarm: Weird body animations, the occasional wrong costume on a character. Just general nit-picky stuff I noticed here and there.

It's their first season though, so it's not that big of a deal.

Love this series, but I have to catch up on episode 7 and so on to finish season 1
