you know what isn't fair? I am white and in a rather ordinary part of the city (In Texas). Two of my friends got full ride scholarships because they were simply african american, but I am stuck taking out loans and coughing up more money than I have. We were in the same school, and their family even made more than mine. If we continue to say sorry for something that happened a long time ago, we will continue to isolate a certain race rather than truly reach equality.
I'm tired of these bullshite internet affirmative action stories. I'm a minority,so where's all my free shite,scholarships and job opportunities?

Every group of people was an a**hole at some point in history. Besides native Americans and to some degree Africans but that's not entirely true. Didn't feel like reading the OP fully but I feel like this is a relevant statement.

that's like me as a man of irish decent demanding money from the UK for what they did to the irish. in spite of the fact that i've never even met anyone directly effected by it.
No one who was a slave(who would be the ones who actually deserve the reparations) is still alive to get the reparations. No one who owned a slave is still around to pay the reparations(who would be the people who deserve to have their money taken away for what they did).
The Irish were only made independent in the last century. I know elderly people who've been affected by the British rule. In my local area alone, a great grandfather of a friend was murdered by the black and tans.

Just like a certain race dominated my heritage, and it wasn't even that long ago. Why is it that if I am white, I am automatically looped together with the people whose heritage were slave owners? My bloodline never owned slaves, yet I am suppose to feel sorry for current blacks due to how their ancestors were Slaves, well mine were too. No repermation whatsoever....
My cousins on the reservation believe reparations are due, but they don't have jobs and contribute to even their own family. I work hard for what's mine and I don't feel owed. What points are you making? The main source of slaves by the English in early america was actually the Irish. It wasn't solely the English that did that to the africans.
I can't believe there are people who are actually willing to fight for this. We need to stop treating the present like a symptom of the past. Yes, slavery was a horrible thing, but nobody alive today was a participant on either side of it, we're separate from it, and it's time for our society to move forward.
