Red John can be considered a super-villain?

In a few years we saw that Red John is really powerful, smart, with a lot of resources and money. Every time is a step ahead Jane, CBI and FBI. He has moles that can help him with his 'business', and they die for him. Maybe he's also a leader of an organization, that incorporates cops, FBI agents, agents of the secret services, judges maybe, and more.

So, he can be considered a super-villain?

But considering current episodes..

We aren't sure if he's a person. I hope he is..

If he isn't a single person it will be incredibly disappointing, reducing it to an organisation totally ruins the emotional basis of the confontation, it also just feels less... epic. I personally still think it's Brett Partridge.
