The plot is pretty much a person is invited to participate in the Liar Game. The runner of the game gives the participants a given amount of money at the beginning. The goal is generally to accumulate the most or more money than you opponent. The money you were originally given must be paid back to the Game Runners. The money you accumulate you keep. You can drop out of the game then by returning half of your winnings to the Game Runners.

Last move played reveals the protagonist wins and then they explain how.
The different games and seeing how he ultimately wins is the interesting part, but how it plays out with the other protagonists and the overall plot is interesting too
