I've seen a shit-ton of sci-fi movies in my 25 years of life, but I can't seem to get enough. Please just shout out any good ones you've seen and if I haven't seen them I'll check them out! Anyone can use this thread for the same purpose if they wish.
Recommend a good sci-fi movie!
Dude, watch out for the swear words :P
The Fifth Element, John Carter, Dredd, Prometheus and Doomsday.

Fifth Element, Serenity and The Abyss have always been my favorites. Attack the Block, Doomsday, Galaxy Quest, Gattaca, Equillibrium, Dark City, 13th Floor, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I Robot, Lockout and Real Steel all get honorable mentions though.
Indeed.
What is Dark City?
@PrinceIMC said:
Dark City has Jennifer Connelly, Keifer Sutherland and Rufus Sewell. Kinda a film noir/sci-fi movie that came out around the same time as Matrix and 13th Floor and like them is all about the perception of reality.
Sounds great. Thanks!
But don't stop there. Keep em coming! lol
One of my all time favs. Also the original Planet of the Apes holds up quite well as does the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers. As for current ones, I cant recommend Looper enough. The Day the Earth Stood Still.
The original, minus Keanu Reeves.
I could name some of my favorites but alot of them are the more well known ones so I will just list a few that might be a bit more obscure.
Mars Attacks
The Thing (John Carpenter's version)
District 9
Just a few I could recommend more films but alot are more popular.

Some of my favourites: Blade Runner, Event Horizon, The Thing (1982), Alien/s, Inception, Starship Troopers, Gattaca, Total Recall (1990), Terminator 1&2, The Fifth Element, Flight of the Navigator, 12 Monkeys.
Definitely these. But also...

Yeah the original V was wicked.
Haven't read the entire thread, so sorry if all of these have been mentioned already:
Primer
Gattaca
Star Trek II, III, IV, and VI
Twelve Monkeys
Dark City
Looper, if you can ignore some of the plot holes
The first 2 Futurama movies.
Also, not a movie, but The Prisoner is a short enough series.

Been delaying watching Looper due to the rumored plotholes.
I know its been said already but I watched Gattaca about a week ago and its a brilliant film. Strongly recommended.
