Is a Cliffhanger, an ending that leaves you with questions left to be answered and makes you wonder what will happen next? (My definition)And what does the literal word mean?

A cliffhanger is a story that ends without resolution of conflict, usually with the assumption of a sequel - whether that is or not.A story that simply ends with plot holes is just that: a story with plot holes.
A cliffhanger is when a story is interrupted at a key point when an event of great, usually dire, significance has occurred before it's effects (both immediate and long-term) are revealed.
