I've always enjoyed Tarantino's work. The other day I was thinking to myself, what comic book adaption would I like to see him do if he agreed to do one. So I pose the same question to the masses because for the life of me, I couldn't really think of one. Possibly the boys, I could see his brand of gratuitous violence working well for that film, but I think they already have someone slated to direct that. So the question is, if you could see Quentin Tarantino directing a comic book based film, what would it be?

that's tough because I'm sure he'd want to add his own flavor to the film.  I think he said in an interview he'd rather not do a superhero movie

@jlat89:
I heard that too, which is unfortunate. I'm just saying though if he were to change his mind, what would you like to see him do?

He could probably do a decent Punisher movie or a completely awesome Lobo movie

Actually Lobo would be a good fit with him, pop culture references and gratuitous horrifying violence done with a twisted sense of humor. Sounds right up his alley

When Asked about the Superman/Clark Kent reference at the End of Kill Bill Volume 2, and if he was a Comic Book Fan, He said "NO"
He was mainly influenced by Cinema Talents.

I am going to try to post the Interview, If I can find it and post it later

Tarantino is full of it then (comes as no suprise)

In an interview he stated he would never do an existing comic movie...because he likes to write his own ideas, and very much admitted Luke Cage was his favorite charcter

@Mr. Smiths: @turoksonofstone: Oh yeah, here is the exerpt from the interview

YL: What books do you remember?

QT: I could always read really, really well so I could like read adult books when I was very, very young. I didn't all the time because they were kind of boring to me, but I could. But I loved comic books. I was really into comic books. And, hands down, my favorite comic book in the mid-70s when it came out, was Shang-Chi, Master of Kung-Fu, which was sort of like the Kung-Fu comic book. It was really great. But my favorite hero, the hero I wanted to be, was Luke Cage, Hero for Hire, which was basically the Blaxploitation comic book. [Luke Cage] later became Power Man, but in the beginning he was, like, the black super hero. I collected comic books and it was kind of cool, because back then if you lived in the suburb or if you lived in a project, it didn't matter, you probably had about six kids in the general area that collected comic books. You could literally go to the kid's house and never having met him and bring your comic books with you, knock on his door, and you open the door, 'hi, my name is Quentin, are you Ken? I heard you collect comic books. I collect comic books too. Can I see your collection and I will show you mine?' 'Oh yeah, come on in.' It was a ritual. You show out yours, you have your best ones, and you lay them out and everything and you kind of look at them. And then he would lay out his and you'd look at them and go 'ooh and ahh' about your stuff and maybe you'd talk about trading. You could literally go into a kid's house you never knew before and start a friendship. You're happy that someone cares. You are happy to show them. So I did that, but the entire time I remember it was like 'Why do you like Luke Cage? He's black. Why do you like Luke Cage?' Black kids 'Why do you like Luke Cage. He's black.' I wasn't allowed to have Luke Cage be my favorite character. That wasn't allowed. That wasn't made for you. It can't be your favorite character. Only to grow up and find out that Nick Cage took his name from Luke Cage. His name is Nicolas Coppola. And when I found that out I went 'Oh my God, how cool!"

Tarantino would only work well with street level heroes. A Punisher film done by Tarantino would be good.

He's a whack-job in a very good way and that could make his take on a superhero really good or it could totally stink. Who knows?

If Tarantino did make a superhero movie I'd probably check it out, though

I recall reading that bit about Luke Cage being his favorite hero somewhere too. I've also heard Nicholas Cage picked Cage to change his last name to because of the hero as well.

I would want Tarantino to direct a Moon Knight film.

Heard anything about a Kill Bill Vol. 3?

I posted the interview where he talks about Shang Chi and Luke Cage a few posts up

A Moon Knight movie would never work I believe for one reason his obvious similarities to Batman, secondly he dresses like a militant KKK member LOL

I never knew there was supposed to be a Kill Bill 3.....what the heck would happen in it...Bills dead

I think a Shang Chi or a Heroes for Hire movie...set in the 70's with the roster consisting of Luke Iron Fist, Misty Knight, Coleen Wing and Shang Chi would be perfect for him, with funk music and crazy martial arts and corny 70's dialogue...it would be different and amazing

@cattlebattle:I just got to it, should have waited to post I guess.

He does dress like the KKK, his outfit is the one thing I kinda wish would undergo a drastic change. The armor suit he had was cool for a while but I think he needs something completely new. I'm a fan of MK but I agree he is a snapped Batman.

I didn't either I was just checking out Tarantino's IMDB page and I saw it was announced

Heroes for Hire is a good match with Tarantino.
