PS4 vs. Xbox 720

well from what we know ps4 is clearly much better in terms of graphics and most other technological aspects.

but from what the past tells us the post powerful console is not always better.

i mean i preferred the GC to the ps2 or xbox

i also preferred the snes to the genesis while the genesis was the more powerful console (its been a decade lets all let it go)

just for the record nintendo OWNS sega.

Xbox 720 hasn't been revealed. I heard somewhere that they're turning it more into a media hub; in other words it will focus on extra stuff like netflix and casual/social games. Anyways, Playstation is superior in exclusives. I'm not even saying that as a fanboy. PS has more and overall has better exclusives than Xbox. I don't know weather Xbox will still have better online but without a doubt Sony will improve theirs (not that it was ever bad). As for graphics, I'm not saying the next xbox won't match but if you see Capcom's Deep Down, its hard to believe it will since this is an example of the PS4's weaker/starting graphics; imagine a bit later when more developers try to improve off of it. Best of luck to both consoles though.

The biggest rumor about the XBox 720 is that you can't play used games on it.

If that is true PS4 wins no matter what. No ifs ands or buts about it.

Even Sony and Microsoft are taking a huge gamble going on with their plans to develop such a hardware so soon.

@FalconPuuunch: They had same rumor about PS4, the fact that it doesn't have it makes me think the '720' won't either.

Either way nothing has been officially been announced for the 720, we don't even know that's the name so comparing the two now makes no sense.

Seems like one person perspective, meaning Sony's. It's hard to make a judgment when the 720 hasn't been officially revealed. So I'll wait. And even then I will still get the 720 over the PS4 due to the next two Halo games that trumphs any exclusives PS has to offer YAAAYA!

720 will be better only because it is coming out later which means it will have better tech.

Apparently the guy that sold the Xbox 720 dev kit for 20,000 has been arrested. In this case we can presume the dev kit was real and the specs inside it will be similar to the specs of the released 720.

If Microsoft is smart it will copy what Sony is doing but make it better and make 360 games able to play on it, not ripping off their users. They will take their time to make it great and innovative, and would respect the Player and concentrate on making good games. They would be making the system cheaper not cheap, and not try to force players into the system by pulling the plug on Xbox 360 Live or anything like that.

Pshhh! Like that'll happen right?

I'm not going to buy the new consoles for a while when they come out, as long as people still play on both the PS3 and X360 for a couple more years I'm happy.

They are going to be released around the same time. They will be holding an event to show off the new xbox next month so I'm estimating that it will come out a month or two after PS4. Maybe a little more. If it was year later at least, then you could argue that.

For the record, likely moving on to PS4 given Halo does nothing for me.

I hope it was just something Microsoft did to throw Sony off. I concur about Halo though. After Halo 4, I cannot wait to see what 343 is cooking up :)

I had to remind one of buddies in order to continue the Halo franchise he's going to have to hop ship to the next console. I found his reaction entertaining.

I feel like there wasn't anything about the PS4 that even remotely sold me on it. Historically most consoles haven't been worth buying for a year or two after release. This has been the case with the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PSP, and others. From a technology standpoint the PS4 is somewhat impressive. The games they showed looked good but they dropped frames and didn't run that impressively. It'll be interesting to see what Microsoft shows with the next Xbox but I honestly feel like the jump in technology from the last generation to this one isn't going to be great enough to sell people on graphics and tech demos alone. 

Xbox is going to be slightly inferior from a technological perspective as Microsoft makes their consoles cheaper than Sony.

But Sony's consoles end up being more reliable. Anyway, I am sticking with my PC for this new generation. As soon as I build it; boxes are everywhere
