I wanna say yes, but considering I haven't even bothered to learn anything about Haitian culture, I'm going say that I'm more or less apathetic about it.
Proud of your Heritage ?
I guess, although one side of my family is...well let's put it this way, one side has disowned me because of their ideals and my sexual preferances

sorry :(
Is that song fo realz? LMAO!!!
I'm from the South and honestly I'm damn proud of it. Yes the South has had an ugly past, but also a very rich one. The way Southerners talk, music, food, moonshine, mountain life, etc.. Soooo much. Though many people in the rest of the country laugh at some of these things, I'm honestly proud of it.
I have researched a lot of my family history and found out about some ancestors that fought in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War and I am proud of it. I have only found one ancestor that fought in the Rev. War, but I have found around 15+ ancestors that fought for the South in the Civil War. I even found a picture of my Great x3 Uncles, who left home to fight in the Civil War at around the age of 15-18.. I bought a book about the artillery they and their brother (who was my Great x3 Grandfather) were in and it goes into detail about all the battles they fought in.. From Gettysburg to Chancellorsville.
Here is the pic of Great Great Great Uncles who, at age 15-18, left their homes to fight in the Civil War:
This is what I see as my heritage, my family history, and my homes history. And yes, lots of it has it's bad points, but so does every countries history.
So... This thread we meet again and I would like to say something I recently found out... Believe it or not, I've got a good amount of Mayan and Aztec blood in me!!!
