They should legalize it. Make it necessary for all prostitutes to have licenses. Make it so that you can't get a license if you're not healthy. This will cut down the spread stds and create a safer work environment.

On a serious note, also making Pimps illegal, so they can keep the money to themselves and be safer while working there own hours.

Legalize? My only problem with hookers is the risk of STD's. Theres absolutely no guarantee that street walkers A) will attend regular check ups or B) even have health care coverage. And harsher penalties for illegal prostitution won't deter prostitution, because obviously they don't follow the law if they're already john-jockies. Thats like saying stricter gun laws will prevent shootings. I think what you're pointing at is expanding legal brothels outside of Nevada. Large kittyfarms already perform health examinations, but smaller ones can't exactly afford that. STD spreading is still a big issue so the license idea barely helps.
Legalize it, if you're worried about STD's then there's things called condoms out there.

What about HIV? It usually takes up to 3 months for it to show in a test.
LOL...this video should be a mandatory reply for a bout 3/4 of this website

I AGREE
@BiteMe-Fanboy: make it so licenses must get renewed every three months; also when one goes to acquire a prostitute, it should be the customer's duty to ask to see the prostitute's license, if the customer takes note that the prostitute's license is over three months old and has not yet been renewed it would be in the customer's best interest to decline the prostitute;
@KnightRise: see what I said above and also make, the check up part of renewing the prostituting license and then make renewing the license cost 100-300

Even though it takes 3 months for it show up in a test, that person could still have it and still transfer it. Guess you would have to just double wrap it,lol.
Both what?
BTW condoms aren't guaranteed in the slightest.

Well the same thing can be said about monogamous sex too then, or casual flings, pretty much saying no sex is safe by that logic.@The Stegman said:

My name is Pooty and I approve this message.
Its their bodies they can treat it like that as long as it doesn't bring crime in my neighborhood.
I just saw like 12 hookers on my street LOL
I'm in support of it. It's their body, they can do what they like with it. Furthermore if prostitution was legalised most of the safety issues wouldn't exist anymore.

Uh..what? Seriously, what?
Will a single person on this thread think a little harder? Illegal prostitution would still run rampant, even if penalties were harsher. STDs would still be a huge risk. Thats like saying stricter gun penalties stops crime and more laxed legal gun control prevents it.
@KnightRise: Of course there would still be random street walkers but if it was legal and you had the choice why wouldn't you go to a brothel where you make a proper wage, get sick days and all that other sh*t. Nobody would willingly deal with abusive pimps and the risk of getting into a potentially dangerous strangers car if they didn't have to. Also in brothels you are not allowed to not wear a condom so the STDs aren't really an issue either.
I don't support it. I don't believe in paying for sex.
@LONGTIME:WTH are you going on about? I don't care if prostitution is legalized or not, but condoms aren't full proof protection against STIs and STDs. Is this really hard for you to grasp?

For it. Why? Because I don't think the government should be able to tell people what they can and cannot do with their own bodies. At the very least, legalized brothels ala Vegas should be allowed, because I understand the desire to limit street hookers.

Call me old fashioned for a teenager, but prostitutes are unnecessary and should stay illegal.
I've never heard of the possibility of legalizing it until now.
So what you're saying is because you don't like it even though it doesn't hurt you other people should not be able to do it safely? High fashion clothing, fast cars, enormous houses, alcohol, cigarettes, huge TV and computer screens, video games, unhealthy food and many more things are unnecessary. By your own logic they should be illegal too.

So what your saying is the spread of HIV and AIDS is comparable to clothing, cars, houses, TV, computers, and video games. It's unnecessary because if you want sex, you can work for it the safe way. You don't need to resort to a prostitute, it's degrading to yourself and to her.
