@frozen: Fame doesn't = combative superiority...
Prime Mike Tyson Slaps your mom on the Booty. WDYD?
@frozen: Fame doesn't = combative superiority...
...You do know that I never even argued that, right?
You brought up doing both Boxing and MMA will get more ''fame'' --- I simple said it does not matter, Mayweather is already more famous than all the current MMA fighters.
@frozen: what studies do you have to support that?
Specifically, any boxer but the very best is hardly talked about at all. Surely Mayweather isn't the only good boxer that can transition to mma and boxing.
@frozen: what studies do you have to support that?
Studies to support what?
@frozen: read my post, I updated it literally one second after I posted it,
@cable_extreme: I read it. I still have no idea what you are asking of me.
'Any Boxer but the best is hardly talked about at all''
Both Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are more famous than MMA fighters. Though, there are people who do not know either (there was a video of a woman recently not knowing who Mayweather is), but they are very much more famous than the current MMA fight roster, they get much more publicity and attraction.
Being the best means you get talked about. There are losers and average Boxers and there is a reason people do not really talk about that, so saying ''any Boxer but the best hardly gets talked about'' does not hold much relevance.
I also do not know why you are talking about transitioning. What is your question in regards to that?
@frozen: so you are saying that because they are famous, they don't want to be considered the best fighter in the world, just the best boxer?
@frozen: so you are saying that because they are famous, they don't want to be considered the best fighter in the world, just the best boxer?
No.......
You, said that a Boxer doing both Boxing and MMA can garner them more fame, I simply retorted by saying the best Boxer does not need that because he is already more famous than any MMA fighter.
Fame is not a gain here. Money is definitely not a gain. And status as a fighter can be achieved through the various, credible Boxing organizations.
@frozen: more fame, more money etc... Is a logical reason to go for mma as well as boxing, if we go by your initial premise that they choose to do boxing because of the money.
@cable_extreme: If you are the world's best Boxer, it is not logical to move to transition to MMA and still do Boxing just to prove a point. In the real world, that has consequences and people do not simply do that to prove a flawed point. It is illogical.
That was not my initial premise either --- I said that more money is not a gain in MMA.
@frozen: it isn't just to prove a point, it is to get more money, more opportunities etc.. Not only would you get your boxing pay, but you would get millions from MMA as well, if you were good. Not only that, you would be famous in both fan bases and actually be determined to be the best ever. Mike Tyson for example said that when he boxed, it wasn't about the money, it was to be the best. Now this isn't the same for everyone, but to have zero boxers represented at high levels of mma and to then claim boxing to be superior is unsupported.
And as I have said, if you just do boxing you gain a certain amount of money, if you do boxing and mma you gain the money from boxing, but also money from MMA. Sure MMA pays less but it is still a huge chunk of change. When someone like Mayweather refused to do mma, it makes him look scared to be honest.
@cable_extreme: What do you think about the upcoming movie Foxcatcher
I'm so pumped about this movie I can't wait to watch it.
Damn, CV is just full of complete badasses internet tough guys.
Arm bar all day.

That's not what you said before. I'm sure he would k.o. me(given the chance).
I'd say very loudly: "Mum, have you taken your herpes medication yet?"
That would shut down any funny business.
@frozen: I can beat Mike Tyson in a fight. I once beat up 10 gang members in less than 50 seconds. Is Mike Tyson capable of doing that? I don't think so.

To be honest, I think Mike could beat 10 unarmed gang members in less than 50 seconds.
Stay silent, ask him to please slap the other cheek.
No, you're not going to shoot him.
No, you're not going to stab him.
...and no, you're not going to beat him in a fight.
HA I don't do sh#t!
Not a d@mn thing.
I get a new step dad.
Stay silent, ask him to please slap the other cheek.
Have fun Mike.
@arranvid: The gang members were armed. I forgot to mention that.

Is that from a hentai manhwa?
@whathappened: NO ,FAM.

This is actually the only realistic thing to do that would help. Just would have to build a time machine first.
@arranvid: The gang members were armed. I forgot to mention that.
Lie.
You have to be at least Wall level with Superhuman-Subsonic speed to beat 10 armed guys in less than 50 seconds. 50/10 = 5 seconds for each guy. Let's say you can one-shot everyone with 1 punch like Saitama. it takes 1 second to punch someone to KO him. You have to dodge bullets to do that.
