Pokemon Still a kids thing?
So I'm rummaging through my room getting rid of old stuff and I come across my old pokemon games Emerald, Sapphire, Crystal, and Gold. I say "this is going to the Ebay for a couple of bucks" but then i stopped and thought maybe i should keep these they're pretty fun for a quick little RPG to pick every now and then but anybody i know will look at me saying "you still play that? That is old and for kids throw them away " but then i thought no kid I know still plays with Pokemon so how is it still a kiddie game and how the heck are they still thriving. So my question to gamers do you still play Pokemon and if so what do you find appealing about it?
U know what's a shame, Michael Vick gets sent to prison for dog fighting, yet Pokemon teaches kids to fight wild animals for money...jk
yeah thats my main reason for not letting them go it's just easy to pick up for a hour or two
@LT1085:
but how? kids in elementary schools now go for the newest fad and this fad (since the show i heard got syndicated to cable) is dead and gone they're on Naruto and whatever Cartoon network is limping to the barn with.
@Edamame:
that is true so i guess thats what most be see
" Red, Blue, and sometimes Yellow. Thats how I used to roll. "I was more of a Yellow and Red girl.
" @OmegaDynasty said:Yeah, I liked the first two the best. I remember buying the Japanese version of Silver before the english released. I was the popular kid that day at school, even though no one could read the names. lol" Red, Blue, and sometimes Yellow. Thats how I used to roll. "I was more of a Yellow and Red girl. "

I played waay too much Ruby back when I had my SP. I almost called in sick to work cuz I stayed up all night playing...
I haven't really touched anything Pokemon since, but I still read the occasional article about it, so maybe once hooked, your'e always a little hooked? So getting hooked when your an adult makes it an adult thing for you maybe, i don't know. O_o
My meaning was that it is for little kids and if you are into pokemon when you are older; I would not rule out the possibility of a mental development disorder." @DH69:

Go to almost any game forum with that mentality you'd be troll for your whole life at that site
I need to know if there are no real animals in the pokemon world what the HELL do they eat??? Is their sushi magikarp??
What people find as childish when they are teens, will find them as cool nostalgia when they're adults.
It's only fun if I got the cheat codes and even then you won't catch me playing it outside the confines of my own home.
" Still most definitely a little kids thing. "Lie, I know dozens, literally dozens, of people who play it. And they are not little kids.

O_o but if someone who isn't a little kid is watching the show and buying toys, then yeah, there's a problem...
But just for the games its not.
I've got to disagree....my sister is 22 and still playing Pokemon and I honestly believe that she has developmental problems
Ok now your just trolling most older people that play it go through this whole algorithim of numbers to get the perfect pokemon i've seen people write whole notebooks i didn't start this thread just so you could ridicule or shame others
"This is great that you mentioned this because in Homeroom in school we were talking about all old things what we had when we were kids. Like Hey arnold and Rugrats and then we came across pokemon. We all figured out that everyone our aged played those games once or twice. (Also note that my homeroom is all girls. So, not only boys played pokemon games when they were little.) And we also found out that it would be cool if we played it again. Also some kids in my class brought in game boys and played pokemon on them. So, yes, it is still okay to play pokemon on occasion. I wouldn't sell it because in my mind pokemon for game boy is like one of best games out there and I can play it over and over again.

" Who cares what other people think? If you like the games, keep them and play them =) "This.
The games have always been fun for me and I can't stand it when people look down on me for playing. Yeah, it was bigger when we were all kids, but playing as an adult, it's can actually be a challenging, fun game if you play with the right people. I hate haters.
End of rant.
