Please Help This Dog

Hey guys, I usually don't post things like this but I love dogs and I hate it when people try to harm them over petty b.s. This beautiful dog, Izzy, is being put to sleep over biting a neighbor who THREW HOT COFFEE at her. It's obvious the dog was just trying to defend herself and reacted like many of us would have (I know I would've decked the guy). The neighbor took it to court and the judge gave Izzy the death sentence despite the fact she had no previous convictions. Krypto and the Space Canine Patrol Agents would appreciate it. It's the right thing to do.

I abhor animal cruelty of all kinds, even sanctioned by law. This person should have been put to sleep.

Thank you! That's exactly how I feel about it.

That action was uncalled for, and I'm not surprised that the dog would react that way. Putting it to sleep over that is ridiculous, IMO.

Nashville, figures. Always something stupid coming from that city.

@Jekylhyde14: You are welcome my friend. I sympathize with you for in my country a few months ago, some asshole tried to pass a law to sterilize the Pitbull breed for being considered "too violent". My sister owns a half-pitbull and the poor thing is sweetest thing ever despite being huge. Thankfully, this law has been set back for now but they are still trying to make it pass.

Sterilize the entire breed?!?!?! Talk about playing God... I hope they put that law away for good.

@CaioTrubat: I can't stand for ignorance. If people were to do deeper research they'd learn that the stigma around pitbulls is almost entirely false.

Exactly. The thing that frightens me most about it is that if this law is passed, then they could kill off any dog breed they consider "dangerous".

It's not the dog it's how it is raised in most cases. Inbreeding or breeding dogs to have specific traits despite their temperament is not uncommon. I've owned a Staffordshire Terrier, A Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, and a German Shepard. None of these dogs were ever aggressive. Not to anyone. I did however own an Australian Shepard, a breed notorious for it's kindness and loyalty, and he was downright atrocious with his behavior. And he was raised the exact same way. You can have any dog out there be vicious or a big fluffy goofball. It all depends on how they are raised or bred.

Let a dog roam ...

I'm just not sure why people have to act that way about dog bites anymore. It's not like rabies is a big problem these days.

What a dumb judge. Why wasn't the @ssh@le charged with animal cruelty?
