Alex is brilliant.
Pierce is used to senselessly berating those who might even have a remotely opposing viewpoint on his program. So, in turn, Alex went on there and basically robbed Pierce of his program and turned it into his podium. Pierce is obviously used to getting his way, and Alex pretty much showed him that there are people in America who are quite infuriated by the idea of a foreign citizen (who has never bothered to actually apply for US citizenship, to my knowledge) who deigns to speak about our laws and what our Constitution should be construed to mean.
Pierce is a poor journalist, and the fact that the court of public opinion practically tossed him out of the UK shows this. I don't agree with Alex on many issues, but I applaud him for actually taking a stand. It takes some serious balls to do what he just did.
On a side note, I do believe that this was a ploy being used by Pierce and his producers over at CNN. He has never fared well with viewers, and over the recent months, has decided to up the ante and deliver sensationalized reporting on a consistent basis just to stay relevant. In order to keep from fading into irrelevance, he brought on an irascible, though occasionally insightful, oaf like Alex Jones, and thus is now able to garner support and make him appear to be the sane one.
