In honor of Methos and my favorite pub in New York City I hereby open it's CV location

We finally need a new thread for random chat.

That and I like the bar idea, it's neat.

Introductions, debate, meaningless thoughts, psycho babble.

Good bartenders aren't here to judge.

Welcome chums!

Wonder how well this thread will do.

There's already a thread for this. It's the What's On My Mind thread.

You will never be able to replace that thread with a "bar theme" thread. It just won't work.

:P

Well right now I'm reading all Death of The Family Titles. I just finished with The Crow: Death and Rebirth as well. So about anything as long it has a good story and isn't just silly. Overall though I'd say my favorites are dark themed anti heroes.

My favourite book right now at Valiant is Harbinger, it has a great dark down to earth story and a great anti-hero for a main character. This is a comparison I made with the books to another user:

In that case I think you will really like Bloodshot, X-O and Harbinger and maybe Shadowman. If I HAD to compare each Valiant title to other books it would be like this:

Bloodshot - Wolverine/Punisher

Shadowman - JLD/Swamp Thing/Animal Man

Harbinger - X-Force/New Mutants

Archer & Armstrong - Deadpool & Cable or Hercules & Cho

X-O Manowar - I'm not entirely sure, it's kind of like if Conan the Barbarian found an Iron Man armor and went to war with the Skrulls

Not to say these books are exactly the same or anything but I think fans of one would enjoy the other

I'm a big fun of The Punisher and Conan so I'll have to check some of these titles out soon.

To be honest there isn't a bad book amongst them, I didnt know anything about Valiant and it's characters apart from Shadowman as I remember the game but after the relaunch check out some of there books and now I'm reading them all

@Glitch_Spawn:

Scalped. Best new series in the past six years. Ended in August and the last trade came out in November.

@Glitch_Spawn: Hey mead is awesome.

@Billy Batson: I've actually been thinking about getting the Scalped trades myself.

@Vortex13: I've never had it before.

anyway:

@Glitch_Spawn: Yes! The nectar of the vikings!

If you don't like wine or sweet liquors you probably wouldn't like mead. It's honey wine and I personally love it. I made my own recently seeing as I got a mead making kit for my birthday and it ended up around 40 proof instead of the 10 too 17 proof that most mead is at lol.

Would be very worth it.

@Vortex13: Hmm. I actually don't mind wine. Just don't have it around too often.

#41 Posted by Vortex13 (12265 posts) - - Show Bio

@Billy Batson: Yeah when vertigo re-released all those number 1 issues of some of their titles a few years ago I got the scalped #1 issue and enjoyed it.

#42 Posted by Billy Batson (58152 posts) - - Show Bio

@Vortex13:

It gets much better after that. The first arc or so was the weakest. It really starts spinning its wheels during the second/third volume.
BB

#43 Edited by Vortex13 (12265 posts) - - Show Bio

@Glitch_Spawn: I first had it and a Renaissance fair and loved it. So I bought some at cappy's liquor and I just dig it. Plus I feel slightly bad ass when I drink it since it was invented by, and very popular with the vikings.

#44 Posted by Vortex13 (12265 posts) - - Show Bio

@Billy Batson: Seeing as I liked the first issue I'd say that bodes well for me liking it.
