This is why I dont put any stock in the polls that say most Americans dont like Obamacare. Most Americans have no clue what it even is. When they do polls of the individual elements of Obamacare, most people support those.

It's human psychology. People dont like to admit that they are ignorant on a subject. Oddly enough, the more people know about something, the more they're willing to admit that they dont know an answer and the less knowledgeable they think they are.

This is called the Dunning-Kruger Effect:

"The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes.^"
