Now that Officer Darren Wilson has NOT been indicted where NEXT for Ferguson, MO?

Now that Officer Darren Wilson has NOT been indicted for the shooting of black teenager Michael Brown in their hometown of Ferguson, Missouri, where NEXT for this community?

Well, Brown's family could pursue charges of violating his civil rights in federal court(either civilly or criminally) or of wrongful death against Wilson but I for one don't see what else can be done.

What of Officer Wilson himself?- well unless he wants to be known in the town as the"man who shot Michael Brown"( any comparison to the 1962 Western "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" is purely intentional) to blacks and whites alike, I would advise him to resign from the Ferguson Police Department, leave town with his new bride( a fellow officer), change his name and spend the rest of his life in obscurity.

I usually try to play devils advocate as I find it easy to get an emotional attacthment to cases like this, but I find it hard for a Policeman in a car to physically threatened enough by a unarmed man to shot him in the way Brown was shot.

I honestly haven't given a thought to this officer since learning he won't be indicted. My thoughts are with the Brown family and the people of Ferguson. I'm hoping changes are on the way.

Or another thug who had no respect for the law and a potential danger to everyone.

Mike brown wasn't a thug.. Bein a disrectful idiot doesn't make you a thug.

Key word here is "potential". He was NOT a threat. Size doesn't make you a threat either. I'm not like most people in this case taking sides. Both were wrong.

What about alleged robbery, telling a cop "You're too much of a p*ssy to shoot me", engaging in a brawl with said cop, and finally reaching for the gun. Does that make him a thug THEN? How hard does this guy have to try to prove to you that he was "'bout that life"? Seriously, do you even know what allegedly happened, or do you just know that a white guy shot a black guy and was found not guilty.

Should be a message to black people that we need more blacks joining the police force or at least police who are from the communities they are policing in.

@africanwilds: I don't really try to devote myself in learning about something like this, because as usual it gets blown out of proportion. It's not that hard of a case to follow.. I know what happened.

So even if I don't know every single detail.. it really doesn't matter either way. Believe me if THAT makes you a "thug" then schools are full of them. Nothing he did isn't that "OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE HE DID THAT" worthy..

Well, if some chick said so on Facebook, it must be true.....

Literally the first thing she says is wrong; Brown was 300 pounds per the autopsy report, nearly a hundred pounds heavier than Wilson, and half her "sources" are two-bit sites no one's ever heard of or staunchly liberal mouthpieces like Slate that have taken Brown's side since the beginning. For God's sake, one of the sources she quotes is written by a man who actually describes himself as "an unfortunate Liberal soul who lives uncomfortably in the middle of a Conservative hellscape". Anyone can post something online. That doesn't automatically make them a credible source.

Is this degree of apologia just a white thing, or do people actually believe Mike Brown wasn't a criminal who deserved every last one of those bullets?

I read the autopsy report and the transcriptions of the interviews, depositions and grand jury proceedings that have been online for days now. There is literally no justifiable reason for anyone to be upset about the grand jury declining to indict --- quite frankly, people should be celebrating, because despite the media circus, amateur online "investigators", and community members threatening people not to come forward with eyewitness testimony supporting Wilson, at the end of the day one side had a mountain of evidence in its support and no amount of trying to subvert the process of law could change that.

Didn't he resign? I'm sure there was article i found saying that he was resigning. He'll probably have to move out of the state. Needless to say the entire rioting proves that there is no renewing my faith in humanity. All i know is the kid was at least a hundred pounds heavier than Wilson and was reaching for the gun. He got shot. It's sad that the couldn't have a damn second to stop doing what he was doing and just follow orders. He'd probably be alive now. But no let's all blame the cop because that's the right thing to do.

Nothing is going to happen, except probably sadly more death and destruction.

More things are going to come out about this incident, that weren't brought up before but it won't change the fact that Wilson got off pretty damn free. Regardless, he's going to have tons of issues later on with people.

I feel for both families who are taking a bunch of stress when they weren't even involved, and Brown's family especially for their loss.

I feel the step-father needs to keep his damn dumb mouth shut.

All these fires were set on buildings that weren't connected to the police. They didn't do anything,they are victims on all this.

While the people peacefully protesting don't have to help,they could and should have. Instead they watched as their neighbor's proprieties were burned and robbed.

@sophia89: There's gang members in the city stopping people from looting. There's only so much you can do to stop people from looting without getting hurt yourself.

And there's peaceful protesting going on in Ferguson if you do your research. Some of you just see what's on the news and take it as fact.

Try to rebuild from all the damage they've caused.

Because most random guys don't have any motives to gain or better yet aren't controlled. The media have to push a certain thing, it's the reason there's so much bias with it. It's all for ratings, and pushing an agenda, and no I'm not talking conspiracy theories.

There's pictures of them there, no one pays attention to it.
