" @Korg: I'm just glad the scene is left in the movie. I figured it would be left out for time. "Well, it's an action scene which helps show Zuko's progression, so it's kind of a two birds and one stone type deal. The characterization is what I am most worried about. I think it might suffer due to the focus on SFX and action scenes.
" @Nobody said:That tends to happen with movies. There is just so much they did right with the series, even the episodes that don't move the story along added something." @Korg: I'm just glad the scene is left in the movie. Yeah, there are a lot of episodes that focus entirely on character development. Doesn't exactly lend itself to the format of what is essentially an action movie. Unfortunate, but then again, we will always have the original series. I am most worried about Iroh's depiction in the movie. That will be a hard role to pull off, IMO. Obviously the kid who's playing Aang is a big question mark, but Iroh is one of my favorite characters, and it would be easy to play the role sort of generically.
I wonder if they got angry seeing how " Avatar" came out, and the probably didn't want to be redudant and confuse people by renaming it Avatar the Last Air Bender.
I doubt it, they probably found out that James Cameron owned the rights to the "Avatar" name when they set out to make the movie, if not the original series." " Looks amazing. Never watched the cartoon though. LOL. "I found it to be surprisingly awesome.
I also like how Aang's tattoo's aren't solid but little designs that form the arrows and when he goes into his avatar state you can see the little designs
" Was that supposed to be Blue Spirit(Zuko) fighting with Aang? "yeah, and the mask looks sorry. it didnt even have the hair in the cartoon.
Effect look pretty well done, I loved the show and I'm glad to see characters I saw in the show on the big screen, this movie looks really fantastic.
But the part where Aang creates a tidal wave, is that supposed to be the part where he goes into the Avatar State at the North Pole? Because I really hope they put the part where he turns into that giant water spirt thing and fights back all of the Fire Nation's fleets, that would be epic.
"I found it to be surprisingly awesome. "I've heard positive things about the show. I just never got around to watching it. I should, though. I noticed that in the trailer, Aang seems to have gained the ability to bend other forces of nature throughout the movie. Does he gain this level of control within season one, also?
First off, Aang & co have pages in the Wiki sections. So this isn't Off-Topic.
Secondly, there are already lots of threads that deal with the trailers: including Avatar The Last Air Bender: Movie ........ Looks good
