Need help in identifying old anime..

So I believe this was on Adult Swim back in the 90s...trying to remember it, but here's hoping someone here knows.

I remember the 1st episode, involving a science experiment, there were a group of people put into freezing tubes, those with diseases which weren't able to be cured at the time. Years and years pass and I think the planet was overrun by aliens or something...

The guy awakens from his tube, finding that the others had all been torn apart and the people inside killed.

Anyone able to recall an anime like that?

Only other animes I can think of never aired on Adult Swim.

Another one, might be Gantz, but everyone was dead in that same with main char.
