@jeanlucpicard: I think its a pretty decent anime

- Good plot

- Interesting and likeable characters ( Akatsuki FTW )

- A deep world / mythos

- It has some really good and tactical fights, unlike some anime were its just ( strength + 1 , speed + 1 = inevitable win )

- Has some great animation.

- Great OST's

I'm beginning to give anime a chance - but I don't like Naruto. Too many stupid moments. I hate the anime that does the little sweat dots, when their arms suddenly become disembodied from their hosts when their angry, etc. THAT stuff turns me off from anime overall.

@JediXMan: i was like that at first, i couldnt stand it because i thought it was too childish but once you get past naruto ( which gets alot better as it progresses ) and come to naruto shippuden it really kicks off from there.

@JediXMan: To be honest, 80% of anime, ESPECIALLY Shonen anime do that. But In my opinion, out of the HST, Naruto has the least comedic "anime freak out" moments.

I am trying to find something that falls into the "serious" category (and dark isn't bad, either). I liked some of Gundam (mainly Stardust Memory), so there's that. Any suggestions?

Cowboy Bebop is pretty good, and it's short so it won't take up too much time, other more highly praised ones include: -Neon Genesis Evangelion
-Code Geass
-Death Note (my personal favorite)
-Hellsing
-the Ghost in the Shell series
