Sexuality fascinates me, especially how it affects one's personality. After coming to terms with my own sexuality I did some research and found that I had always had many of the personality traits associated with bisexuals. I recently pondered if stereotypical gay male behavior was actually a part of being gay.
After some thought I decided that the majority of gay behavior is learned, just like masculine or feminine behavior. Some act that way because they want to make sure everyone sees their "gay pride", and others act that way because they learn it's what expected of them. Little girls are taught that females like certain things: Barbie dolls, princesses, tea parties, the color pink, etc. Little boys are taught that males like certain things: G.I. Joe action figures, superheroes, sports, the color blue, etc. They don't have to be told this, they just take after the other boys and girls. If someone learns they are gay, they may begin acting gay because it's what they unconsciously see in the mirror. It's depressing, really.
I can only assume I didn't suffer from this effect because there isn't really a stereotypical image of a bisexual male.
