Krull- I know it wasn't a success and many have forgotten about it, but if it was remade using modern F/X it could be awesome

Buckaroo Banzai- because it was cool and the actors from the original are to old for a sequel

Highlander- because it's rep has been tarnished and as with Krull it could be so much better with modern F/X

The Last Star Fighter- similar reason as Krull

These are all I could think of right now feel free to add more

Good call on Highlander. How about we don't cast a Frenchman as Scottish and a Scotsman as Spanish this time!

Ghostbusters. Blast me all you want for that, I've heard it all and I still stand by it. Obviously, the actors are too old, and the franchise had difficulty in the live action department coming off with a sequel that had mixed reviews, and really nothing else in years. The animated series did well outside it, and action figures, comics, and games sell to date, proving that the franchise itself has incredible moxy. Remake Ghostbusters in the way Star Trek was and reignite the franchise in full force. The argument against this would be it would taint the classic. First, I can say many classic movies have been remade and it's already proven that isn't always the case. Personally I feel a sequel with the old grey crew and outdated management would taint the classic more, even more than part 2 did, as well as letting the whole thing die before or thereafter would. Again, the animated series was a remake in itself, and very serious production and it came off well. I get what the whole deal means to Akroyd personally, given his father and all, and his continued grip on the series, but the man just turned 60. Maybe it's time for him to let go (and certainly to let go of the blues for Gods sakes!). Anyone seen Star Trek 6?

@CATPANEXE: Sometimes ago I read somewhere that they were thinking of making a sequel. But haven't heard anything about it in a while so I am assuming it's not happening anymore.

@ComicMan24: It's always " in the works ". Akroyd has been driving it for years, and it keeps coming close. He may actually pull it off this time, who knows, then again, see: Star Trek 6.

Ghost Rider. I wouldn't mind if it were about Dan Ketch instead.

V for Vendetta. I realize I am one of the few people on Earth who hated this movie, and I am in an even smaller minority who hated this but liked Watchmen.

You'll most likely be getting your F4 re-make sometime in the next couple years. God yes on Spawn. The original was sub-par to say the best. Effects were nice and the Spawn suit looked decent, but it wasn't that good of a movie. Wouldn't mind seeing Jason end up getting turned into Anti-Spawn in a sequel if they ever do re-make the movies. I remember hearing rumors about a robocop remake as well, but those might not be true.

WOAH WOAH WOAH HOLD YOUR HORSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back to the Future? NO WAY!!! I would support any remake other than that. All three movies still totally hold up and I can watch them all the time without getting sick of them....there is absolutely no need or reason to remake them

I'm a bit iffy to support a Blade Runner remake as well. Didn't even notice the Back to the Future one. Those need to be left alone.

I also second Spawn, The Evil Dead trilogy, and Gremlins.

I also disagree on Back to the Future, but if they had an impressive team behind it, I would actually be cautiously optimistic about it.

Personally, I don't see why people get so upset about remakes. It's not like the originals go away.

We need remakes of 1984, A Clockwork Orange and Blade Runner like we need a plague. Those movies are perfectly fine the way they are, in my opinion.

@Illuminatus: Well yes, but in terms of the special effects and tech that should be displayed throughout those movies should be updated. I mean, call me naive, but i think the script should stay exactly the way it is, but the dystopian scenery should be brought to a whole new level, you know?

@joshmightbe:

If you think movies are all about effects you really dont deserve to have an opinion. Highlander is perfect and i dont want some hollywood dreg remaking it the cast is fine the action and story is interesting and the film lovable and memorable and the soundtrack is also brilliant CGI only makes one appereance at the end of the film its not about that anyway, i hope Highlander is left alone since all sequels and attempts to resurrect it have failed. I guess you are a big fan of Michael Bay?@cyberninja: You too, What would you have the dark crystal in CGI if so you should be executed and the fifth Element?? elaborate on how this film needs remade?????

X-men. I LOVED four of the previous five (hated First Class though), but it looks like we won't get an X-men 4. There hasn't been any news on it for almost two years. And I would hate to see a film series go along with only showing prequels. So, I think they should reboot it :(

And get Christopher Nolan working on a Daredevil remake.
