What are the musical scores you love hearing despite not being as famous as say, from Hans Zimmer or John Williams?

V for Vendetta has the best musical score of any CBM and its not close.

Big fan of Angelo Badalamenti's scores. Especially his work on Twin Peaks. Enjoyed Mike Patton's score for Place Beyond the Pines.

The main theme from Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is one of my favorite pieces of film music.

Alan Menken's score for Disney's Beauty and the Beast, its dark but still romantic and whimsical for a classic Disney film. And the music to Game of Thrones is always good.

Pretty much anything from Christopher Drake. Very underrated composer.

@lyrafay: I love Beauty and the Beast's soundtrack. ^__^ That's my favorite Disney movie. =D

Regarding the topic, I'd say that Chrono Cross and Nier are underrated gaming soundtracks.

The Thing, such a spooky theme...

Oh! And Trails In The Sky has a very underrated soundtrack. Though, that might change when the game comes out on Steam.

Pretty much anything from Christopher Drake. Very underrated composer.

YESS!!!

I think it's because he has yet to do notable stuff for live-action. But yes, he's very underrated. That All-Star Superman theme is one of the best ever

@violens: Yeah, that heartbeat rhythm really sets that tone of doubt and fear through out the film.

Memento, Place Beyond the Pines, Cry of Fear (Free Steam game), and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (David Fincher version).

@marshall_long: You know, I bought Eternal Sonata not too long ago. I still need to play it. It's been collecting dust in my closet.

@cloakx14: Clint Mansell? How is the guy who did the soundtrack for Requiem for a Dream and Mass Effect 3 underrated? He's one of the most popular movie composers.

#28 Posted by DoctorXander (949 posts) - - Show Bio

The whole movie is also underrated
