They could be from anything. Dragonball Series, Capcom Games, Nintendo, Sony, Naruto, Marvel, DC, and the list goes on. You choose who you think is the most powerful and post why. Don't be a fan-boy and put down someone just because.... it would be nice to know who this could be!!!

All right well let's change it then. It's good to know that TOAA MoM and The Presence are all top tier when it comes to most powerful fictional characters, but let's forget anyone of the Judeo-Christian all powerful gods and go to lower tiers. So as of now anyone who has less power than those are open for question and conversation. Remember that all video game characters, anime characters, comic book characters, and cartoon characters are allowed to be discussed.

I nominate Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan. Anybody who even at "base" strength that's strong enough to wipe out a corner of the Universe has to have major power points given to them.

Cause f*ck you atheists! That's why... Nyehehehehe! Kidding.. :D

I think it's because religious-based (especially Judeo-Christian) stories appeal to a lot of audiences. Not to mention they're very entertaining. Vertigo itself has a very solid fanbase and most of their stuff are "faith-inclined" stories.

I suppose. I mean they have all sorts of other fictional characters like aliens demons, Norse gods and Greek gods.

Haven't read any of those.

Pretty much any omnipotent character, or those that can become omnipotent. It would be better, to actually narrow it down because if your including every character ever made in every company or what have you...your not gonna get a definite answer.

I don't think a character can obtain or become omnipotent. That just doesn't make sense.

Certain ones can, its fiction after all things don't really need to make sense.

Why do all the comic book universes have to have a god?

Admittedly, playing to the Christian faith does open up a whole lot of story opportunities and characters. Zauriel was a pretty cool JLA member and the Spectre is badass. Both of them are linked to the Christian faith. Also it lets you use hell in stories too. Useful for supernatural tales too.

Yeah I suppose.I mean things in Christianity are taken from other religions. When writing fiction you have to take inspiration from anywhere you can.

I was actually going to mention him.

Its interesting to see how these characters have changed to reflect the changing times they are written in.

Just look at Batman and his rouges as an example, his villains at one point could be described as colourful but with increased understanding in mental illness we have seen them become a very disturbed lot.

Several omnipotent characters in DC/Vertigo and Marvl are based on aspects of Yaweh from Judeo-Christian mythology. They're often in-universe depictions of an all-powerful higher being, and as such are comparable to (or even based on) God from religion. In this context, Yawheh is a charcter.

Its not a question of religion, there are characters named after/based on the Judeo-Christian God that are extremely powerful, omnipotent even. The same way there are versions Zues, Odin, Thor, and Ares in comics, there are the One-Above-All, God, the Presence, the Source, and the Man of Miracles.

@benjieweiss: potentially it's any infinite level power absorber as they can just take the powers of any reality warper & add it to their own plus every body else's power

Failing that! above galcticus above the endless or the immortals of the universe there is the living sentient representation of the universal consciousness.
