Rosemary's Baby, it was dull, not scary at all and frankly pretty stupid but people talk like its one of the best horror movies ever.

Avengers

I don't get the Avengers hate, the movie was exactly what it presented itself to be. We were all fairly warned going into it that it was going to be a goofy popcorn muncher and that's exactly what was delivered. If it had claimed it was going to be some Shakespearean Epic and came out like it did I'd get it, but you can't be mad at a movie for being exactly what it said it was going to be.

This whole thread makes me wanna kill.

@jedixman: I agree it was far from the best movie or even super hero movie ever but if we're being honest it's kind of weird that anyone expected it to be more than what it was. Every trailer and press release all basically spelled out that it was going to be a big dumb block buster and that's what they gave us.

@theironlord: Never said you had to like it, it was more a general statement about some people's dislike for the movie. A lot of people seem to be mad because the movie wasn't something that it never claimed it was going to be.

I know. As I said: the reason it's overrated is because people didn't see it as a simple popcorn flick.

Personally, I liked Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, and both Captain America movies more than Avengers.

@jedixman: I loved the Avengers movie for what it was, don't get me wrong there are better Marvel movies but the reason I liked it was because it was just goofy fun. Anyone claiming it was anything more than that is definitely over rating it tho.

For me Star Wars, I enjoy the EU don't get me wrong. It's just the 6 films hardly hold my interest for long

@spideyivydaredevilfan26: The Incredible Hulk is overrated ? It was one of the only Marvel movies to be collectively ignored. Every other movie at least had a sequel or an Avengers tie-in. Ed Norton's Hulk was just...forgotten lol.

Hunger games, Star wars and titanic

@racob7: It was a terrible movie. The entire concept is like an illogical, tweeny bopper, boring version of Dark City. Every character is an idiot in this movie, ESPECIALLY the bureau, Blunt and Damon have NO chemistry, and the morals make no sense.

@joygirl: Let me guess...This is about me hating Trick 'R Treat? Well, sorry, but it sucked. Anna Paquin delivered the WORST performance of her entire career, NONE of the characters were REMOTELY likable (Let alone developed!) the story and characters were flat out ugly and mean spirited, the stories were predictable to the point of being painful...It is a bad, BAD horror movie. Great concept...BOTCHED execution.

@joygirl: Very well. I love Fight Club, Matrix, Avengers, Dark Knight and Star Wars so I will address the others.

The Boondock Saints~Illogical premise and the worst character development put on screen, unfunny, at times both racist and sexist, and Willem DaFoe's worst career performance

The Incredible Hulk~Completley RUINED the character of Abomination, too much focus on action and 0 focus on characters or story

Rocky Horror Picture Show~Unfunny, annoying songs, terrible performances from everybody and non-existent plot

From Dusk TillDawn~See Trick R' Treat, replace Paquin with Clooney and worst performance to 2nd worst performance

Man of Steel~NO character development, horrible performance from Michael Shannon, illogical motivation from General Zod, awful ending, awful romance.

@spideyivydaredevilfan26: While I wouldn't say Argo was the best film of 2012 by any means, I still wouldn't say it was a horrible, idiotic, painful abomination. What made you dislike it so much? The partially inaccurate history in the movie? Ben Affleck playing a Hispanic? (Because as a Hispanic myself I wasn't bothered at all by that.) Did you think the pacing of the film was bad? Or did you just not like the character's and performances given by the actors?

Oh, and Avatar is the most overrated film.

@tehstranger: I didn't like the portrayal of Middle Easterns as basically motiveless, angry, mindless zombies, I didn't like how John Goodman (A FAR better actor than Affleck) was so underused, I didn't like how it was historically inacurate simply in favor of cliches we've heard a hundred times, I didn't like how unrealistically unpatriotic it was, I didn't like how it basically kissed Hollywood's feet to get an Oscar. Oh, and I didn't like Affleck playing an overweight Hispanic man, but that's just my personal opinion. And yes, Avatar is VERY overrated. I hate that one too.
