I am a big MMA fan, I practice a little as well. What do you think is the most dominant martial art and why?
Most dominant Martial Art
I dont think there is a more dominant one it depends on the amount of training and how you use your style in a fight but styles like judo and jujutsu are really effective if you know what your doing and you can manage to get your opponent in a grapple a experienced user can end a match pretty quickly.
I would have to say Muy Thai for striking, and Jujitsu for ground based submissions. However I do believe that a solid wrestling base is a must for any MMA practitioner.
I've always been a fan of Hap Ki Do. It covers alot of ground - punching, kicking, grappling, etc. When it comes to dominance though, it all depends on the practitioner who is executing to procedure. Also, Hap Ki Do has several different styles. Right now, there is not just ONE standard system of Hap Ki Do which is practiced worldwide. Personally, I use the methods taught by the Korea Hap Ki Do Federation.
Tae Kwon Do is very good also because of its powerful kicking techniques. Tae Kwon Do also has a set standard that is accepted worldwide. The Olympic committee recognizes the practice of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation, which is based in its headquarters of Kukkiwon in Seoul, South Korea. While there are other forms of Tae Kwon Do (ITF, etc.), the WTF(World Tae Kwon Do Federation) holds to most authority.

Shotokan... I think it's one of the most widespread fighting styles around... And, I take classes for it...
Julius Cutter says:
"most dominant ? i don't know, but i practice sambo,i really like it"
Sambo is a very aggressive form of grappling. Fedor Emelianenko has been the number one fighter in the world for years now and he is a Sambo expert.

Wing Chun Kung Fu, because of its simplicity and ferocity, it was created by a woman who was allowed to practice the shoalin arts....it was designed to kill fast because most women can't take as much physical punishment as a man....but Dim Mak runs in close second because its name means "death touch"....it is a hardcore pressure point style and can kill with a small series of pressure points....it isn't in first place because to me, the chance of finding a guy that can use it is extremely rare

"Tae Kwon Do because it gives older kids a good reason to beat up their siblings. "What is going on here?!" "We were just practicing my martial arts, mom." *sniff* "He roundhouse-kicked me in the face!" "Stop crying, Tom, you need this kind of thing to make yourself stronger!""

In popular MMA today the most commonly seen disciplines are Jui Jitsu, Wrestling , Muay Thai...and others.
Based off of most commonly seen in the organizations of UFC, WEC, Pride(UFC) Jui-jitsu is possibly the most common, because of the Gracie's dominance in the early UFC days no doubt. Also in your average altercation the fight goes to the ground in around 10 seconds, wheere jui-jitsu is most prominent.
As far as a style being in and of itself dominant, that depends more on the practiotiner than the style in my opinion.
Having studied , somewhat sporadically, in a number of disciplines for more than 15 yrs I feel they all have areas of strength and focus, whatever philosophy is more compatible with the practitioner will probably serve that practiotioner the best, ehich will in turn aid them in being more dominant in combat and drawing attention to that particular system.
