So my daughter watched the Lion King all the way through for the first time today and before today she had never seen Mufasa's death scene. Her reaction to this was to scream "No" and burst into tears. Since misery loves company I felt the need to ask what the most depressing things going on today are for my fellow viners.

Realizing that the U.S might go into war soon.

And thinking about the first day of school tomorrow.

You're implying this is something the US doesn't do on a regular basis.

I know how that feels, bro. I tend to do that too. Ruined a lot of relationships that way.

But no worries, we are all family here. And we stick up for one another. :)

Thanks to the user above the one above me, I have now also realized that I am lacking in companionship and connection to others.

And my father just had a big fight with me and stated that he wished he had never seen me.

Oh, the work I didn't do while I finished season 2 of Sherlock, and realizing just how long I have to wait until season 3 of Sherlock, and OH! I still have work to do.

That last episode was so intense too though. I'm so glad I didn't get hooked during season 1, because the wait between Seasons 1 and 2 was probably worse.

I helped at a local soup kitchen today and seeing some of the homeless people and how they looked was sobering

however a lot of them were still very kind and positive (really shows the strength of the human spirit).

#36 Posted by Glitch_Spawn (17132 posts) - - Show Bio

This will sound self indulgent and overly arrogant, but when I have to wake up completely sober I feel a sadness that you can only read about in old Hemingway novels. That's the worst part of my days.

Literally the worst thing that happened to me today was that the comic store I went to only had Volume 1 of the Immortal Iron Fist.

I WANT THEM ALLLLLLL.

Realizing that I didn't have to stay up all night studying without any sleep because the new professor's nervous and unsure about how to set a paper here since he used to do things differently in MIT........and so consequently he set us a paper that a three-year-old could ace.

Waking up. Wasting my time on the computer when I could have been working. Knowing that I have to go to my Principles of 3D Modeling class today. The fact that I had a bland cereal when I could've had Captain Crunch.

Pretty much everything depresses me now since last night.

@joshmightbe: Did she cry more than when Darkseid got beaten up by Superman? :P

But so far, it's the fact that the state of the world is making me really doubtful about how much we can screw things up.

#46 Posted by joshmightbe (24885 posts) - - Show Bio

@lvenger: No the Darkseid thing was the worst so far

#47 Posted by Lvenger (19936 posts) - - Show Bio

@joshmightbe: No offense to the sadness of your little girl at that moment but I laughed my head off when I first saw that post on how your daughter cried when Darkseid got beaten up. It's a first time I hear that children actually prefer the villains to the heroes. I take it you haven't watched Twilight of the Gods with her yet? I bet she'd cry a lot at that moment.
