This video was taken at the cove, in a town on Maui called Kihei, if you didn't get it from the vid info. Most people think a tsunami is a huge wave that comes right up like a normal wave, but it doesn't.
Usually, what happens is the ocean will recede, sometimes rather large distances, almost like the tide will normally do (but it's not normal). I live by some manmade lagoons, and the water in those is still receded about ten feet or so, enough to see the seaweed beds on the rocks.

Also, many of you will be happy to hear that a sea turtle was trapped on the highway, but has since been extricated and sent on his way home.
