Every credible archaeologist in the world has been telling people for years that 2012 being the end of the world is total BS, but no one ever listens to reasonable qualified people who spent years studying, but some moron pops up on youtube and everyone suddenly comes running. I'm not gonna be polite, if you think 2012 is going to be the end of the world, You are stupid.
The world wasn't going to end even if this youtube didn't appear. If you believe the world is going to end because a bunch of guys who died out centuries ago said so, you fail at life.

All the calendar ever indicated was that 2012 was going be the "end of an era," and from the astrological standpoint upon which they based their calendar, this is true. It could very well have absolutely no noticeable effect on this planet.
But also lets not forget, the Mayan calender might be right, just off by a couple of days. I mean the Christian calender ends this year as well. So there is two calenders that end this year, so there has to be some truth in the end of the world.

Or, y'know, they didn't actually foretell anything and just stopped recording their calendars at that specific point. There's that, too.
@Nova`Prime`: Well according to the book that the entire Christian faith is built upon states very clearly that God is the only one who knows when the world will end. So any Christian who claims they know when it will end either believes they are God or they're calling God a liar. Either way I wouldn't stand too close to them in a thunder storm

Exactly, but there are also plenty of "Christians" who believe differently. Like when hacks like Jerry Falwell says stuff about bringing on the Rapture. Its like and who are you to tell God when the second coming should be?
