I This can be a thread for any math equation help needed.

3x+2ab = 4x-5ab

#2 Posted by !Drake! (1880 posts) - - Show Bio

I know ther is someone on here who can do it

#3 Posted by Methos (40103 posts) - - Show Bio

:EDIT: check that with G-Man, but that looks right to me

M

#4 Posted by Methos (40103 posts) - - Show Bio

3x + 2ab = 4x - 5ab

5ab + 2ab = 4x - 3x

7ab = x

M

#5 Posted by !Drake! (1880 posts) - - Show Bio

Thanks M!

#6 Posted by !Drake! (1880 posts) - - Show Bio

lol I need the variables solved

A=

B=

X=

#7 Posted by Methos (40103 posts) - - Show Bio

what?

you don't need the variables for base algebra

Let ab = z

3x + 2z = 4x - 5z; now subtract 3x from both and add 5z to both

7z = x ; but z = ab so...

7ab = x

Proof

3(7ab) + 2ab = 4(7ab) - 5ab?

21ab + 2ab = 28ab - 5ab?

23ab = 23ab

Job Done

You good at Statistical Methods? I may need your help in June. LOL.

If you've had to go over Proportions, Means (Ho, Ha, and whether or not to reject them), Confidence Intervals, Averages, Standard Deviation, and the like... It's the same...

Never took College Algebra or Mathematical Modeling?

I was told my test scores put me high enough to make College algebra optional...basically i skipped it and went to stats....and then in stats all the work was done on the computer so i had my roomate do it for me and i did his Botany for him...i'm a bit of a science nerd

You Know Its Funny. Cause all the Statistics and College level Math I took in College. I dont even use any of that crap on my job. I use basic math. But not the advanced stuff.

See, we took Stats the old-fashioned way. On paper.

Exactly. It's stupid as f@ck. I'm an Exercise Physiology major, working to be a physical therapist. I'm not even gonna use Stats at all in that field.

Wish I had that blessing at the beginning of the Spring semester... LOL.

And another thing ! Why cant Colleges give more rebate money back for Books that you return ? You buy a Math Workbook for $ 165.00 and get $ 60.00 back ? Come On ! At least meet me half way !

#32 Posted by pixelized (62882 posts) - - Show Bio

LMAO...sorry for the ill fate you suffered static.

sin, cosin, tangent...they screwed me harder than that time in the back of a black chevy camaro.....nevermind

Hell f@cking yeah... A lot of people in college are broke. But, they don't see that. College is a scam. That's all it is.

sin, cosine, tangent.

Thought these were easy.

Assimilation says:

thats the basis of Quantum Physics...

it's really scary when you get into it though, it really alters your world views

Assimilation says:

"just the name quantum physics scares me"

Quantum physics is a branch of science that deals with discrete, indivisible units of energy called quanta as described by the Quantum Theory. There are five main ideas represented in Quantum Theory:

  1. Energy is not continuous, but comes in small but discrete units.

  2. The elementary particles behave both like particles and like waves.

  3. The movement of these particles is inherently random.

  4. It is physically impossible to know both the position and the momentum of a particle at the same time. The more precisely one is known, the less precise the measurement of the other is.

  5. The atomic world is nothing like the world we live in.

it's not scary lol, though Quantum Physics is more magic than math...
