Get ready for the stone age.

Well, as long as it doesn't kill us all, I'm not that worried. Just shut down all things affected by it. Power lines would be a bit hard, though.

Edit: Wait, according to the article.. it happened this morning. I didn't notice a thing at all, and I was in computer classes all day long.

The article was written yesterday, and in the second paragraph, it says:

The eruption on the surface of the sun, known as a coronal mass ejection (CME), has led to a "massive amount of solar particles heading towards Earth", which are due to hit the planet between 6am and 10am on Thursday morning, a Met Office spokesman said. But he added that the phenomenon was likely to go unnoticed by most.

So yeah, it already happened and I don't recall any news stories about any massive damage or something.

Yes. In fact, I'd wager that the sun has just turned us all into mutants. Quick, somebody go try to fly!

Wasn't there one of those last month? Seriously, I remember something about solar flares hitting our planet for three days last month.

I wager these type of solar storms happen all the time, people have just been mostly ignorant to the subject though.
