Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook
"Young people are just smarter," Mark Zuckerberg, now 26. Why do I find this insulting to old people though I'm not old. I find this to be illogical and egotisitic. Yeah right, if younger people were smarter than most of todays problems which are worse than the last last decades problems would of been resolved. Most ot todays youth just sit around goofing off on the computer. People used to be smart and clever by watching T.V but now they are just dull people who goof on the internet not having much talent or knowedge about things. As for Mark Zuckerberg he only got luckly because he made a website where you could block some people and allow some people while letting them upload images and chat. This isn't brilliant.
Young people should be smarter.
We should be able to learn from the generation before us and add to it.
If the younger generations are not becoming smarter...then the old generation didn't do it's job.
Older people should feel proud that younger people are smarter...after all...it would be because of them.
Actually many studies have shown that the average IQ is gradually decreasing meaning that on average younger generations are getting dumber
" @Daydream: im not saying its a solid fact im just saying that given the state of current pop culture I can find it believable(did you know Paris Hilton has fans what kind of sad pathetic life leads to some one being a Paris Hilton fan?) "
You know these comic geeks even register on websites just for comics....what kind of sad pathetic life leads to some one being that obsessed with comics?
See how that works?
People like what they like. You may find a paris hilton fan to be ridiculous...while others will find our love for comic stuff to be ridiculous...no need to hate on them for it.

Nice.
The whole 'arrogance of youth' thing springs to mind. I maintain that Tesla was smarter at 80 than I'll ever be.. I'm okay with that.
Sort of related, this is a graph showing Facebook's connections throughout the world. You can make out where the Amazon rainforest and Sahara desert in the negative space. Also major cities. I dunno the more I think about it, the less relevant it becomes but I thought I'd share.
I honestly believe things like facebook and twitter are a major contributor to the dumbing down of the world
As for Mark Zuckerberg he only got luckly because he made a website where you could block some people and allow some people while letting them upload images and chat. This isn't brilliant. "LOL.
It made him a billionaire. That's all that matters. Making a website that eventually made him rich is pretty brilliant. Ask anyone.
suprise, Hes been named the person of the year for time magazine. Thief of the year probably.
Static Shock.
stealing codes from some other companies to create his website really makes him brilliant. He may be clever and a thief but that isn't brilliant. As I said he got lucky and becoming rich wasn't the point of topic here.
It lets people that travel across the world keep in touch with their families. For instance people who go to university in different countries to their own. I know an American girl that goes to my university in England and she uses Facebook to keep in contact with her families back home in America. Show them pictures of what they're doing and chatting instantly. Instead of using the phone and costing them a lot of money. I find that a brilliant idea. I guess you're basing the "thief" name off the film. When no one troubles Bill Gates, when he stole the idea for Windows and became the richest man on the planet. It's called capitalism. Get over it.
I think twitter is pretty much ridiculous I can understand keeping in touch with friends and family but theres no reason to tell everyone every minute detail of what you're doing I could care less when someones doing laundry
" @Supreme Marvel: facebook isn't the only network. The internet already did what you mentioned. Its called a clever thief. "Clever thief is another word for capitalism. So if you condemn one, you've condemn them all.
"@joshmightbe said:"facebook was basically just a slight variation on myspace "Way more than just a slight variation. If you can recall...when FB was first introduced...Myspace was extremely different than it is now. They have added a lot of features that copied off of FB. "
because myspace is failing
I don't call it getting lucky, since I don't believe in luck, anyway. He simply built a website that ended up being a cash cow, like many other websites have eventually become. I don't care for the topic. I just wanted to address the part of your post that I don't agree with. LOL.stealing codes from some other companies to create his website really makes him brilliant. He may be clever and a thief but that isn't brilliant. As I said he got lucky and becoming rich wasn't the point of topic here. "

Anyway the only reason facebook became popular was because it was a website that had categories with a user face/image so people weren't to difficult to look around for. It is just a blogging where multi threads can be created program that let users into not allowing or allowing people into blogging similar to myspace. It does let users upload images white chatting one super feature which beats most of the competition but thats it.
Clever thief is another word for capitalism. So if you condemn one, you've condemn them all.
is that smart people are finding ways to use something for their benefit that consumers are willing to give their money for. The whole point is to make money. Zuckerberg came up with an idea that just happened to be right place right time sort of thing.
