I got out of magic last year but it turns out some of my new friends play regularly. With the powercreep being what it is, I was wondering if it wouldn't be a bad idea to bust out a fairly competitive modded pre-made deck I used to have. I figure it'd be cheap to rebuild.

Problem is, I forgot what set it was from. It was a rainbow deck that had all kinds of ways to search for basic land. Its creatures were Stratodon and a 2/6 that had land walk for basic lands I controlled. I tossed the Kavu in favor of a Legacy Weapon and Rancor to make my land walking creature more damaging.

It wasn't the greatest deck, but I never got mana screwed and it could compete with the casual decks of its time without overpowering or being underpowered.

Of course, if you can come up with a better solution that'd be great.

Any tips or info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
