They'd have to be found guilty of the crime of possessing and distributing child pornography (which exchanging nude pics of themselves would be). Depending on which country you live in, this might not be possible. My country has recently taken it seriously despite our Young Offenders' Act (anyone under 18 is penalised less harshly than an adult) but it's more to do with others getting a hold of pictures and sharing them amongst each other and social network sites. I think kids need to made aware just how serious sharing nude pictures of themselves can be. Not just for them but the people they share them with.
Between two teens? IMO no they shouldn't. I don't even think sexting should be illegal unless its between an adult and a minor. Then there is that weird area, should an 18 year be punished for sexting with a 17 year old even if the 17 year old is turning 18 in a few months? For example, if me and my GF from high school (who starting dating when we were in like 9th grade) were sexting and doing other stuff, and I was a few months older than her should I have been punished just because I happened to turn 18 first?
If only one of them were over 18, then the older one should be. Unless it's like an 18 and a 17 year old kid, I feel bad for those kids who get in trouble, when they are only months apart in age.

I would say yes to the liar, but sex offender registry is a harsh punishment. That would stick with this kid for his whole life. I don't have a problem with people being registered for lesser crimes, but I would like to see the registry changed, so a kid like this is able to be removed from the list later in life.
Who gives a damn. Its their business. If people barely care about teenagers giving the consent on both sides to each other to have sex why should they care about sexting between couples?
For once, I don't have an opinion. I've not thought this one through.
I tend to think there needs to be at least a slap on the wrist at bare minimum for teens who send nude pictures of themselves because I do not believe they are of age to consent and there should be a deterrent. I definitely think there should be more than slap on the wrist consequences for teens who distribute underage nudes.
Beyond that, I'll have to give it some more thought.
