@cgoodness: Aren't progressives the type of people who started the Prohibition? Libertarians all the way.
@hylian: I think it's right beside the "don't post" button ;)
@mandarinestro: Oh, I see it now :D
@mandarinestro: well in fairness they are currently mostly fighting corperations
I don't support political parties really, I think they're stupid especially when only two dominate elections. However, I'm more economically conservative with a few 'left' ideas like that I don't care who wants to get married (of legal age). I'd have to go with Libertarians because of their similar ideology to mine.
Ayn Rand is a shitty author though, I hated reading Anthem in school.
@cgoodness: I have issues with both of them.
Libertarians always talk about living and let living, but whenever someone is poor they label those people as lazy asshats.
whichever one stands for REAL change to bigotry both economic and social, to PRACTICALLY embracing the economic advantages of anti-racism and anti queer hate, versus blowing smoke like lazy SJWs they claim to abhor, is the one I'd vote for.
Holy crap! If there are so many Libertarians on this site, why do I feel I'm one of about two people who actually make Libertarian comments?
I don't believe 83% of this site leans Libertarian. The progressives must not have seen this thread yet. Either that or people don't understand the difference.

I agree. Parties also erode the independence of their members, which hurts the integrity of the system.
Lol you're the only one who said that word.
@batwatch: Trolling under the guise of neo-Communism is a thing these days...
Why don't poll results for each option show the precise amount of votes like the total, or at least show decimal places? Maybe use precise totals, and a pie chart to show how each number adds up to the whole? Maybe a Venn diagram for multiple selection polls? Naw, that could get too messy. Precise totals though.
The American progressive movement came out of the socialist movement. They're basically one in the same, and that's not a good thing. I like regulations but not tons of them. You don't need 1000 pages to tell businesses to treat their employees, customers, and the environment with respect.
Libertarians are for freedom of the market place and freedom of person, and that's fantastic! But there are limits when it comes to what's responsible and what's not. People and businesses should make their own choices, but those choices won't always be logical and good. Society needs to be able to set limits and build structure, because structure is good for people to have. But you can't do that if the framework has been torn down. In terms of libertarian politics, I tend to be a bit more to the left of John Stossel.
