Killer Robots

Lately, it seems that all killer robots are huge and shoot death beams out of their faces. I don't remember this being a main quality of either the Destroyer or the Sentinels so it seems to be a new meme among sci-fi movies. Just an observation.

Well GORT did that back in the 50's and I believe the destroyer armor also did that when it first appeared IIRC. But I would say the Sentinel took it from both of them idk why, I always liked blasters on arms or shoulders way better than shooting a beam from their face.

It all started with The Day the Earth Stood Still. Still, the measuring stick for all giant killer robots.
