It is wrong but what can you do, Even here on Comic vine people are using vulgarity. We can flag them, but that's not an answer,

Well, when I was that age my parents didn't mind the occasional shit or fuck, if I used these words excessively though or in situations that didn't warrant the use of these words they would get annoyed and tell me to watch my language. I agree with their standpoint, the words are fine as long as they are not used in excess or without reason.

I've honestly never seen why people get so worked up about cussing, sure its not the most polite way to speak but it doesn't actually do any real harm.

I find ironic we have to keep the language clean in this site, for the sake of the children... Yet kids are the most likely to use foul language than the adults ◔_◔

@kaijukinggojira: You edited it with maturity by leaving the curse words untouched?

Depends on the amount. It also cannot be used in direction of elders.

If he/she jams their finger in the door, a curse word or series of curse would be acceptable.

If they don't like what someone cooked, it wouldn't be acceptable.

Can't take them seriously. It's like talking to a less agressive Cartman.

When they're toddlers that don't know any better it's funny and a tab bit cute. But, when kids (7-12) that know better and curse anyways for no apparent reason it's really shameful and says a lot about their parents. I work at a library in the children's center and some of the things I hear those kids say is just unbelievable and I find it very sad.

@jokergeist: @wolverine08: How come these weren't in my inbox?

And are you telling me that the mods are really that strict about vulgarity? I don't know how I'll survive without vulgarity.

@kaijukinggojira: That's exactly what I'm telling you..........<bleep!>

It's one of the major flaws on this website, is that the staff think Comic Vine is inhabited by children....WHEN THE ENTIRETY OF OUR COMMUNITY IS COMPOSED OF TEENS AND ADULTS. *sigh*

I don't really have a problem with it, but they need to reign it in when talking around adults/superiors.

@jokergeist: What would a child have to contribute to sight where people will utterly stomp you and make you look like a complete fool in a debate.I don't think a kid could handle the vine.We have to discuss this with the mods at some point because most of us are above child status.

Age wise, there are actually a lot of people who are under 18 on here.

Maturity wise.... pfft. No, a good number of people on here are not above child status.

I'm ok with it as long as they watch it when with their parents or with specific family and it also depends on the place. I used to swear all the time with my friends and would occasionally by accident swear around family. Though. I don't really like it when people swear in every sentence.

A little silly, but such is the nature of children. They're still growing mentally. But they better have the common sense to not speak like that to their seniors. If a kid did that, I'd probably duff him across the head.

@russellmania77:

If their parents let them then okay.

I never cursed as a kid; and I still rarely curse.

I mother would have beat me with the hardest thing she could find if I did. I'm not even going to discuss what my granny would have done...

I joined CV when I was 16, it's no big deal. On Swearing. I don't think about it but when it's right in front of you it can be really disgusting watching an 8 year old tell their parents to f**k off.

Cultural variations lol. I'm African, Nigerian specifically, at that age...i just didn't even have that in my vocab. It just couldn't happen, nope. We oft tend to look down on the Europeans or, should i say, "white people" who we assume promote this behavior with a lack of proper upbringing and discipline.

But all that aside, lol a 12 year old blaspheming their parent, let a lone grandparent--if they didn't slap the child, i would. Le jk jk. It's not cool though.

But then i'm not one to talk, having used my first swear word on a parent of mine at an age younger than 12...lol.

I dont mind a curse now and then but when people use them in every second sentence I get extremely turned off by it, it sounds trashy and cringy.
