Kanye West vs Lil Wayne. Who's Better?
kanye is def a lot more talented. and i'm pretty sure weezy relies more on ghost writers than kanye. tho recently kanye's lyrics have been absolutely retarded and bland as sh*t. but his first two albums were ridiiiic
" Neither, you can't spell Crap without Rap! Life is like candy, you have to throw away the rappers. Metal FTW! "Dude calm down.I like metal too but geez to say that any other music genre is crap is just selling yourself short.I don't like to listen to country very often but I won't insult it's value or influence.Luckily I had an older brother who helped me discover more music (boy had that b-b-b-bass in his trunk) and I really just followed his lead.
Having said that I don't care for either "jerp jerp" or "how could you be so Dr. Evil?" but I did grow up listening to some stupid gangtsa rap that I still love to this day so who am I to judge.
" Neither "
Look at these guy I haven't seen him in a long time whats up man did you leave CV?
Kanye. If you take away what seems to be an ego problem, and immaturity issues, then you have a real unique talent for creating music, and at least from what I heard on the first album, lyrics that have content.
I've never like Wayne at all...even though a good friend of mine pointed out that Wayne was the best mc out of the whole hot boys group...which has to count for a little...
Lil Wayne. But I'm not exactly a fanboy of his either.
I can't stand Kanye and I don't think he has any charisma, soul, wit, depth or feeling to his songs. Though I'm more than willing to admit that I don't have a huge kanye palette so if anyone can suggest some of his more esoteric songs to listen to I'd at least give them the benefit of the doubt. Not that Lil Wayne is exceptionally amazing at what he does but I do think he has his moments and definitely has some talent. I think that Kanye is only held afloat because his producers know how to make an exceptionally catchy beat.
And incidentally I am a big rap fan, but I appreciate shrewdness and lyricism as opposed to egotism.
Wayne sucks. Drake sucks. Nicki Minaj sucks. Rick Ross sucks. Kanye West is awesome. Kid Cudi is awesome. Cage is awesome. Aesop Rock is awesome. Lupe Fiasco is awesome. I have a lot of respect for a lot of rappers but I have no respect for the club rappers and modern gangster rappers. The 90s was where it's at. In all honesty, I absolutely hate most music out there. I like Daft Punk, The Killers, Blink 182 and a few other bands and then there's a lot of rappers I like, but I just don't get the Young Money people or Chingy or artists like that.

So in other words you don't listen to Kanye's music at all?I can't stand Kanye and I don't think he has any charisma, soul, wit, depth or feeling to his songs.
He's makes black history everyday...he doesn't need a month :)I think Kanye West is an incredibly egotistical jackass. But his talent's undeniable.

I'mma let you finish. But I just gotta say, I think that MLK Jr was the most influential black man.

In other words Kanye tries and fails to do exactly that. He promises aesthetics he can't deliver. To put things into context. I would pick Atmosphere and Doomtree over Kanye any day of the week

And like I said I don't listen to a lot of Kanye because after the first few times I didn't exactly give him a chance. So if you can recommend any particular songs of his that might change my mind I'm all ears. I'll listen and let you know what I think of them.
You may not listen to alot of Kanye but when you say that he doesn't have any chrisma, soul, wit, depth or feeling that's kind of the opposite of Kanye. What songs have you heard? Gold Digger and that's it?And like I said I don't listen to a lot of Kanye because after the first few times I didn't exactly give him a chance. No, I've heard Gold Digger, Jesus Walks (pretty good), Diamonds of Sierra Leone, Monster (Nikki Minaj made that track good), Touch the Sky, Stronger (Daft Punk is great) and E.T.
I also don't think he has a distinct voice, he has no stage presence and can't sell me what he's trying to sell. DMX is a poor example of a rapper but he had a distinct voice and tone that was fun to listen to. Jay-Z is a wonderful rapper but he has the same problem as Kanye, his voice just isn't quite there. Jay-Z makes up for it though by being a prodigious writer. Lil Wayne also has that distinctive drawl and bullfrog voice that keeps me interested if slightly confused.
His rhymes seem weak too. He relies too much on using similes and simply subtracting the like or as out of a sentence, creating a metaphor without any depth or significance. And he gets totally off track in most of his songs too.
This is possibly the most ridiculous thing i've ever read in my life. No, I've heard Gold Digger, Jesus Walks (pretty good), Diamonds of Sierra Leone, Monster (Nikki Minaj made that track good), Touch the Sky, Stronger (Daft Punk is great) and E.T.

Kanye is a drama queen, but he's a drama queen who's infinitely more talented than Lil Wayne. It's not even close, they're not even in the same stratosphere. Anyone who cares about or listens to hip-hop would never say otherwise.
Lil Wayne is the Britney Spears of Hip-Hop, he sells out to anything he thinks will sell records. You may hate Kanye, but at least he is an actual person.
