Joaquin Phoenix as Dr. strange

what do u think ?

I'd rather have Liam Neeson as current old Strange with Joseph Gordon Levitt playing flashback scenes as young strange.

i think Joaquin Phoenix as Dr. Strange would be great he was good in Gladiator, Her and To Die For.

Never seen him in a film before.

A good actor can play anyone. Phoenix is great actor. He could easily play anyone.

Out of spite for his character in Gladiator, no.

God no. Laim Neeson is in way to many films and is overused at thus point. Not to mention in my opinion Liam is pretty average to mediocre of an actor. While Phoenix is at least two leagues ahead of him.

That or 'Her'. Gladiator first though.

@thitiki: my problem with Phoenix is that there's a good chance he'll not want to do the role anymore after the first film. He's a good actor, but he likes to do roles that he defines as artistic or meaningful to him. Seems like he likes the indie film scene more.

I'd be worried about him losing interest in a superhero role. But if he has the passion and enthusiasm to do it, then I'm sure he'd do great. But if he dreads the fame or doesn't feel connected to the role, he could leave it to do indie films again.

I still want Johnny Depp to play him.. He looks the part WAAYY more than Phoenix, and could play the part just as good if not better let's face is Depp plays the part well when it comes to STRANGE characters (pun intended)

He can also play a serious roll, he's just a versatile actor.

I wouldn't say Liam is average but I agree he is somewhat overused and Phoenix would be great.
