Jaws reboot = Piranha 3D

#7 Posted by MaccyD (5111 posts) - - Show Bio

Reboot? Jaws has a complicated mythos?

Jaws reboot = Piranha 3D

Oh geez, please don't compare that film to Jaws. The first one was a masterpiece of it's time in regards to "monster" movies.

This. I feel like Jaws is one of those movies where you can't go any further than what the source material gives you, unless you add more sharks, and we already have that with "Deep Blue Sea"

@deranged_midget: That's what a Jaws reboot will be though... a Shark going around terrorizing people and tearing them to pieces... just like Piranha 3D was.

I just watched the 1st one on blu ray a month ago and it's timeless. Have seen it many times but this was the first time I saw it on blu ray and it looked great. Especially the mayors anchor suit! I will never watch a remake of this. What a horrible idea.

We're gonna need a bigger budget.

Godzilla should eat Jaws for breakfast and go on a stomping spree!

I'm against it. Not because I'm against remakes of great movies, but because there's no point to this and little hope of success. They could use that same effort and money making a new movie, instead of trying to suck the life out of an old one.

Also, the history of these types of movies is that they suck. Even the Jaws sequels sucked. And the way many modern filmmakers are going, this'll just be another CG shitfest with seizure-inducing editing and probably Shia LaBeouf as the lead.

It made me love Hasselfhoff.

That said if Jaws is rebooted an becomes anything like those movies I will hunt down the entire film crew and feed them to Manatees

This sounds like an awful idea. I've never seen any of the Jaws films, but from what I know, it's a series of films about a shark going around and eating increasingly stupid people. What is there that a reboot could change?

They are going to make it PG, just like they did with Robocop reboot.

lol, we've already had pretty sh*tty sea monster movies over the last few years

Sharknado

Mega shark vs Giant octopus

Mega shark vs Crocosaurus (they stole the tagline from avp !)

The list goes on...

It would happen sooner or later. Not really a surprise.

Bring on that CG shark! :/

I can't be worse than Sharknado :P

Nothing can beat Jaws 4 however.

Never heard of that. But by the sounds of it I don't want to. :)
