Its been complained about for years and they never did anything about it. Now finally they make it illegal. but has any1 ever been to japan? i have and i will never go back to that place again IT WAS SICK. im not being racist but its the truth. in Tokyo the streets are literally lined with all kinds of sexual images and shops. child porn and magazines everywhere and people walking around like its not even there. there child porn magazines with little girl being raped by old men and all kinds of things. i felt like i was in Sodom and Gomorrah. manga porn and anime child porn everywhere. vending machines with what look like frekin girl underwear in them. id never been so disgusted im my life. what is this part of their culture or something? child porn. it makes me not even want to read manga anymore. the bad part is shops will steel people to sell this stuff. manga and anime is a multi billion dollar industry in japan. but the things i saw was just horrible and sick.

I think you're only referring to manga/anime in this post. However, that kind of "child porn" (it's a drawing. Lines on paper, FFS) wasn't affected by this. Lolicon hentai is still perfectly legal.

First you must understand the Japanese Culture, Hentai and other porno materials are often to the public as a way to vent their sexual frustration otherwise it may explode.
