I feel like the fast & Furious franchise is played out because I saw fast & furious 6 the other week and I noticed it was a lot like fast 5 then I realized all the movies after Tokoyo Dift are pretty much the same thing over and over again some international bad guy does something and the team has to use there driving skills to stop him etc I just feel like it's all getting stale

It was played out the moment the first one was released, althought Tokyo Drift did get Lucas Black back on the big screen for a moment.

The first film was great it's one of my favorite movies of all time. The other films not so much. Haven't seen the latest movie though.

No. It is the fastest movie to a billion dollars and they are still great action movies. Jason statham just got there too.

The Fast and the Furious is a bit of a paradox for me. In many ways, it embodies everything I dislike about Hollywood, and yet I enjoy it so much. I've been watching all of them after seeing 7 in theaters and am still trying to sort out what I like about them. It's possible that I'm drawn to the "code" of the characters and the thrill-seeking, risk-taking situations, the idea of bottlenecking reality into something powerful that you have control over, like a car, and that familial connection based not on blood, but shared experience.

Do you really need to ask? I was done paying attention after "Tokyo Drift". I still like car racing movies but they really pushed and stretched this series out like Mr.Fantastic. Maybe I just don't like the movies enough to appreciate anything past the fourth movie because there are way more epic series' out there.

I should probably answer the question instead of just commenting. No, Fast and Furious isn't played out because they will never run out of situations and plotlines. It's similar to James Bond, except there's even more potential because there need not be a common protagonist among the installments. If your standards for "played out" include never revisiting themes or repeating storylines with a new twist, I must ask how you can be a comic fan.
